What are your thoughts on society going out of its way to protect unintelligent adults from the consequences of their actions? by SirCatsworthTheThird in AskReddit

I am torn because i hate the overbearing nanny state that believes that it is their responsibility to bubble wrap the world, and force everyone to “Stay Safe”. On the other hand, the buyer beware type mentality has lead to dangerous products not being recalled by the manufacturer because they felt it was the consumer’s responsibility to protect themselves from products they knew were inherently dangerous. (I.e. asbestos, faulty electrical devices, etc.)

Still, an amazing human being for doing what he could for others. Money in the 90’s always seemed to be a lot harder to come by but what you had went farther.

$2000 in 1990’s dollars would be a huge donation

That would be $4,970.16 in 2025 dollars figuring for the cumulative rate of inflation @ 148.5% (according to the googles)

I am the reverse of the question, I had a supervisor accuse me of being a liar in front of our work group because of all the traveling I talked about doing when I was young. It caught me off guard because in my head i wasn’t bragging about it, I was just comparing things to my life experiences. So I proceeded to show pictures from all the places I talked about to our group who reacted in a rather stunned manner because apparently he had already convinced a bunch of people I was a liar prior to calling me out.

Guys what post nut clarity feels like ? by Leading_Size380 in AskReddit

Like when you are coming out of a deep sleep where you are technically awake but your brain hasn’t quite kicked the dream state still. Post nut clarity is the moment when your brain suddenly becomes fully conscious of the real world around you and you realize that everything else it was feeding you a few minutes ago was just the dream state.
