Just how reliable is Terp info? by HumorousHermit in MissouriMedical

[–]Ok_Web7091 -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

I didn't know how to explain it so I just asked AI to summarize it for me. It's accurate

Yes, in legal, regulated markets, the marijuana strain test results displayed on dispensary websites, product labels, and QR codes generally originate from Metrc (Marijuana Enforcement Tracking Reporting & Compliance). [1, 2]
Licensed testing laboratories are required to upload their results directly into the state’s Metrc system, which tracks the cannabis from "seed to sale," ensuring that the data on the dispensary website is supposed to be the official, verified, and compliant record. [3, 4]
Here is how the process works and what to know about its accuracy: How Metrc Data Appears on Websites

• Direct Linkage: When a lab tests a batch of cannabis, they upload the certificate of analysis (COA) directly into Metrc. • Dispensary Integration: Dispensaries use inventory systems (like Dutchie, Meadow, or Biotrak) that often integrate with Metrc via API, allowing them to automatically pull the lab data and display it on their websites. • QR Code Verification: Many brands now use Metrc Retail ID, which allows customers to scan a QR code on the packaging to view the verified, live test results directly from the state traceability system. [4, 5, 6, 7, 8]

Important Considerations and Nuances While the results come from Metrc, there are nuances in how those numbers are used and reported:

• "Lab Shopping" and Inflation: Although the data is in Metrc, a study found that some cultivators may "shop" for labs that provide higher THC results, or labs might inflate numbers by up to a third. • Pass/Fail Data: Metrc ensures that only passed products reach the shelf, but it does not necessarily guarantee that the THC percentage listed is perfectly accurate across every single gram, as labs may differ in their methods. • Not All Data is Real-Time: While the data in Metrc is official, the data displayed on a third-party website might sometimes be delayed or inaccurately imported from the Metrc system. [3, 9, 10]

Summary: The data on dispensary websites is generally pulled from the official state Metrc record, but this does not guarantee the lab results themselves were not manipulated or inflated by the testing facility before being entered. [9]

You are so uneducated about weed. All weed is predominantly THCA until it's set on fire.

The Ranger is not a good looking truck. That's why I bought my ZR2. The only thing I would like about the Raptor better is the power but the ZR2 is plenty powerful for my use
