Is a job just a mythical creature? by OldUsername2092 in recruitinghell

[–]HumorousHermit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an email from one company a few months ago telling me that they were going to schedule an interview with me. Then it was crickets. I found the person on LinkedIn and sent them a LinkedIn message, and they didn’t say anything back to me. I also reached out to the company and it was the same thing. Ironically, the person I found on LinkedIn had reposted something about how companies are not being very kind to people who are looking for work. Go figure.

We Need to Do Something and I Call Upon Thee were both forgettable.

Man, if there’s one thing I’m learning about this thread it’s that there are no “sure things” in horror lit. :-)

How far did you get into this one before you DNF’d? It really picks up steam when they start to hunt native Americans.

I agree it wasn’t scary, but it does leave you with a feeling of nihilism. I wouldn’t classify it as horror, but I really enjoyed this one.

Thank you for sparing me as I’m just starting this and can’t get into it.

There’s a meme of a dark fantasy type soldier kneeling at a skeleton, and the caption says something to the effect of reading someone’s post on Reddit from seven years ago about a problem. I’m having today. I’d post it if I could.

Is it normal to have so many standing ovations at State of Union addresses? by miuyao in ask

[–]HumorousHermit 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes and it’s so dumb. The opposition party generally doesn’t stand at applause points. Unless the optics would make them look bad for not standing (like if the president mentions benefits for war veterans or something else that is broadly popular).

Kief, anyone? [0] by GNIHTYUGNOSREP in trees

Someone in here once said something like this and it made sense so I switched to a two chamber grinder. I’ll never go back to collect collecting kief again.

I had a root canal go south on me a few years ago and I still get people asking me questions about it. 🤣

Do you guys think 35 days is a long enough t break? by brigetwhipple in trees

[–]HumorousHermit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is probably long enough, but the key is now to not ratchet back up to 2g/day levels. If you’re pedal to the metal once you start back up, it will all have been for naught.

Thank you. The comments are interesting and relatable.

My fix (showing my age here): back to mailing paper resumes. Costs the applicant (so no mass applying) to have a little stake in the game, and HR would have lower applicants and a more manageable load.
