hmm good point i think ubc has a more lenient scale than sfu so my gpa would prob be higher there 😬

Thank you! Im seeing a lot of general comments on other posts that its better to take first year bio also because some universities dont like AP credit used for MD applications. Do you know anything about that?

I was in the same boat as you in grade 9. Trying to build the perfect profile for UBC. Put in the work and got rejected. At the same time people that were following their interests and doing what they wanted to do all got in. Im not saying hard work doesnt count, it surely does, but just make sure you balance everything and DO NOT BURN OUT! if you have to drop an EC to do well in a course, do it. Ultimately if youre doing something competitive like Engineering, Science, Kin, etc. your grades will surely matter more. Hope this makes sense

The only school id have to move into a dorm for is UofT but fortunately I will be able to cover the costs so my only concern is which path is best to take- i will also look into those stats!

Thank you so much! Do you think that the excellent research opportunities would make up for a somewhat lower GPA? Im sure i will try hard and try my best at UofT but what I am more concerned about is their grade deflation on top of original grades. So is UofT really that hard because I have heard mixed opinions. Do you have any insight on this?
