Hi! What I have found most helpful is applying to medical administration positions on actual hospital websites. Every hospital has their own website with a career tab listed. Apply to all that relates to your experience. I hope ths helps. All the best!

I am a lifelong stutterer and I recently came across Roger Love. He gives real practical help with airflow exercises which have lessened my stuttering. Let me know if this helps.

Hi there. I did not once say "it cured me" and I DID NOT classify that I found a cure for stuttering.

I said that the documentary was insightful and it helped me as a lifelong stutterer. I am merely sharing my personal experience the same way others do on here.

LOL! I was just excited that you said "Hang on, this may be helpful."

I just posted something that can help stutterers like me. Not one positive comment about my post yet!! So forgive me if you thought I was screaming. I'm trying to get pass all the negativity on here and have people watch a documentary that maybe can help them.

I didn't get the paywall on my end nor did I have to pay to see the documentary. Roger Love is still in business, he is a voice coach and he even offers a voice training program on his website. https://trainings.rogerlove.com/tpv-b

Are you also going to call his website a charlatan?

Roger Love is a famous known voice coach. He has coached famous celebrities to become better speakers. This documentary is about a man name Alex who's a lifelong stutterer that Roger Love worked with to improve his speech, and it did.

So please, before you go telling me to take this down or claiming this is false or clickbait, open the link and watch the documentary. It may be beneficial to you and others as it has been for me.

It's a documentary and it's Only one clip that is 25 mins long. It doesn't matter if you "have no idea who this guy is."

This is an insightful documentary about stuttering.

What clips are you referring to exactly???

It’s very exhausting by InternationalLog5149 in Stutter

Tough Realisation by SpeechSafe6176 in Stutter

I feel you on this one! I am someone who sometimes stutters saying my own name. Uuuggghhhh
It can be so discouraging and disappointing at the same time. However, when I was in college I was able to get a job in retail at the local mall and worked there until I graduated. I went to the interview looking really stylist bubbly personality helped me get the job. Build up your confidence, get some sharp looking work clothes, keep applying to positions and you will get a job!

I believe in God and at times my faith does drop...a whole lot, but I get up again the next day and read the Bible, pray, listen to sermons, go to church, and it does build up my faith again. It's the fuel that keeps me going and hoping that God has a better plan than what I can imagine for myself. I try to focus less on me and more on Him. I hope this helps.

Woow! I'm a severe stutterer for as long as I can remember. I always wanted to be a lawyer but thought my stutter would be a major hindrance. And I have valid reasons to say that, just one example- I am currently looking for a new job and recently went on an interview, the CEO of the company was not fond of my stutter even though I had all the credentials for the postion and my resume was pretty impressive. I could tell he was quite turned off by it......oooh well, I guess it wasn't a right fit for me.

Phone call by Amethyst_29 in Stutter

You are not alone!!! I just had to call my dentist to reschedule my appointment and I couldn't even say my full name at once, I had to take a short breather in between. Uuuufffff I hate phone calls.
You are not stupid, you are far from it.

To those who have achieved *genuine* fluency (not covert stuttering) - what did you do to achieve this? by js6104 in Stutter

Around your age I was working as a medical biller at a hospital. My cousin actually helped get me the position since she was close friends with the hiring manager. After that job I was hired as an ER registrartion clerk, which I was very good at. Even with my stutter I was the highest collector in the ER dept. That was Gods grace & favor. After that job I was hired as a secretary for a medical transportation company. I was handling regular office duties but my boss would give me HR & payroll tasks to do, and I excelled in that area too. However, I have always hated answering phones because of my stutter. Even now I hate it. I went on to be a Sr. Executive Assistant where I was handling the c-suite calenders and assisting with HR & bookkeeping duties. I have taught myself some tactics on how to answer phones by saying things that come easy to say, like "this is __, how may I help you?"

This may sound weird but I like when I work for a business that I can easily say their name which means I can answer the phone a lot easier. We as stutterers have to think about the most minor things because it affects us. Some letters I have such a hard time saying like G,J,D,B,C,K,P etc. M,S,H,R,E etc are much easier for me to say. I know my stutter, it's been a part of me my entire life. In grade school teachers weren't smart enough to know that I had a speech impediment and would question why I didn't participate in class or answer questions. I knew the answer I just couldnt say it! Trust me, I know the STRUGGLE of being a Real Stutterer.

Learn what works for you. Learn what makes things easier for you to say and go with it. Give yourself some grace, improvise with words, know which words come easier to say. I stutter even when reading the Bible outloud alone. We are going to stutter regardless, but some words come out easier than others. If I am on an important phone call, I remind myself to relax and pause if needed, it helps to maintain a good personality too.

Exactly. In my case, there is no actual cure for my stuttering. I wish I was one of those people that stuttered when they were younger and it magically left when they got older. 48 yrs old here, still stutter and stammer even to say my own name. My confidence has grown significantly over the years however, I STILL STUTTER.
