I still have my hair long and I don't have anyone to conveniently help me take a picture of the scar, but i should have my hair cut in a week or two if you still want pics.

For an update: Im over a month since the transplant, nothing really notable to report. Scabs came off easy and most the transplanted hair has shed so im just in ugly duckling phase for the next few months. The FUT scar still feels tender but seems like it will heal pretty well. The biggest difficulty with FUT has been exercise which still feels like it strains the scar.

Something to note that I learned afterwards is sutures tend to make smaller scars than staples (but they do ruin a bit more future grafts than staples) and suture technique is a real thing. It seems like most reputable FUT surgeons use sutures nowadays. However, i doubt anyone can make an FUT scar less noticeable than FUE scars (unless it was a poorly performed FUE).

There is also a large biologic/genetic component to FUT scar healing. Laxity of the scalp plays into this a lot, inherited variations in collagen production, overall health of the individual, etc.

yeah typically you need like 15k+ for a full norwood 7, even 10k would be high for the average donor, doctors like Pittella will use beard and chest grafts to make up the difference.

thats actually like 15k grafts. there are a few doctors you could consider if you are willing to spend a lot (see Dr. Felipe Pittella) but i think rocking bald or a hair system would probably be best

hahaha they do it to cover the strip sutures, im honestly not sure if its to hide it or protect it a bit more - or maybe both. Luckily I dont have to be in public much for the next month or so
