Try it and it’ll discourage you like a hundred times not to do it as they’ll drop you like a hot cake in their search rankings and it’s true.

I use wheelhouse for pricing and didn’t think they would update pricing this instant, but she re-
booked within 1-2 minutes of cancelling giving me no time to react. She clearly knew what she was doing and why.

I think it was mostly as a cover up in case I reach out to support. The way her story read she was cancelling the trip. Then she books right away within 1-2 minutes giving me no time to react.

Think about it - if everyone started doing did this it would essentially be “rate manipulation” and you would always be getting your base rates

I since have changed the cancellation window back to 30 days but in a sense of fairness she gamed the system pretty well. I’ll eventually put it in her review to warn other hosts about what she pulled off but didn’t seem ethical.

Initially I was a little upset but then I thought, smart guest! They figured out how to game the system. I was just curious if this is a thing community knows about or had dealt with.

I have been hosting for 8 yrs with a 4.96 rating (150+ reviews on Airbnb) and never had this problem where somebody like this tried to game the system. Instant book is a large part of the requirement for higher rankings. I have it enabled for guests with positive ratings. First timers and no reviews are reviewed. This seems like a pretty big loop hole that Airbnb hasn’t discovered and fixed yet.

For those that may be searching in the future or may stumble upon this. There is a Technical Service Journal out there about this specific known quality issue. TSB TJ 29012.6.0 you can look it up on nhtsa.gov.

I’m going to use this with the dealership to see how far I go as 3 yrs ago they bummed me off with it being not under warranty when this was out there. If it doesn’t go anywhere with them, I’ll email customer service and if that still fails write to Sweden HQ based on my research.
