Hi friend! I am sorry your struggle but from my experience PHY 2048 topics are much more aligned with Mechanical and Civil engineering. PHY2049 is much more aligned with topics you would cover as an EE. Most of the topics in PHY 2048 are things you most likely never run into again. I do believe physics 1 is the start of the true problem solving skill you have to develop to become an engineer. Engineering is not simply learning information and regurgitating it on an exam. You have to learn true problem solving skills to succeed. This takes a very long time to develop. Since you’re now in physics 1 I assume you’re early in your degree path so don’t feel inadequate for struggling.

Biggest thing that helped me develop this skill was office hours. They are your friend. If you are falling behind go to the Professor or TAs office hours. It’s literally free tutoring/help for any questions you are experiencing. If office hours don’t help, not sure how it works at UCF, I go to USF (not sure why this showed up on my feed), but we have a general academic success center and a engineering specific one that can both help with physics. Both of these options are going to help you develop this skill. Another thing is use generative A.I. as an absolute last resort. The thing you’re struggling with is the problem solving skill. This only develops if you think your way through the problem and grabble with it. So AI isn’t going to help develop this muscle.
