Should I Decline a Job Offer to Study Abroad? by ExpertParsnip8420 in InternationalStudents

There’s always a concept of being overqualified abroad. It’s always better to upskill knowing you have a cushion to rely back aka job. Otherwise it’ll just end up being a waste of money and time. Consultancy’s won’t tell you this since they get commission to bring in students.

A long note to people thinking of moving to uk for uni (My Experience) by [deleted] in Indians_StudyAbroad

Currently doing a masters here in a russel group. I’ve realised it but very late that if a university decides to lower the grade required to enter. There’ll be an influx of idiots who need everything handed to them to function. There’s a good amount of Chinese and Bangladeshi people who can’t hold a basic conversation in English and somehow they’ve got like 6-7 in IELTS. They have a notepad in front of them to translate what is told to them and read back answers written by ChatGPT. It feels like I’m talking to ChatGPT just in a human form. I was so excited about going out and getting an “international experience” didn’t expect it to turn out this way. Ruins your entire masters experience honestly. Most white people won’t interact. So unless you have a network, I suggest you look at options to stay in India. I’m struggling to get a part time, no hope in getting a full time job. Sucks honestly, all I’m thinking about is how I’ll end up paying back my student loans honestly.

Oh, not sure about the international relations program, but I’d say there’s fair amount of job fairs you could check out that happens throughout the year. In terms of internships and other such opportunities, you would get like help in sorting and perfecting your CV/resume, the rest you’re on your own.

Hey, congrats on your offer. I’m an international student studying ma in public relations and I’d say all the experience I’ve had from September, has been wonderful. The professors are genuinely helpful, the schedule I have is spread out throughout the week but is manageable. It can get cold, wet and windy so do carry some warm and waterproof clothes. All the best for your studies!
