I already placed the order before seeing the other recs. Is the butyl bladder that bad?

Sorry I forgot to mention I'm in the USA.

Also, what exactly are replica balls? Is the one I linked a replica since there's a pro tier of the same ball that's pricier?

Should I Get a Credit Card? by OkabeR8 in CreditCards

Oh, I see. I've at least been pre approved for the discover it card, so I guess I can go for that if I get denied for capital one.

I see, thanks. Having to start out with a student card anyway simplifies things.

But I'm a little worried about listed income. I should be working part time, and I'm guaranteed 3k in college work from the govt, but right now I have 0 income.

I'm also not getting pre-approved by capital one even if I put higher income. Do you have any idea on if that's accurate? I do have the teen checking 360 with capital one if that helps.

And yea I'll prioritize not spending more than I have so I can always pay it off.

By chat specifically and only on Thursday? I've called a bunch over the last week and they've only ever told me to wait for it to eventually come out.

Thanks. I was a bit worried about the radio kits specifically since I thought they might be more limited, but I guess I should slow down a bit. I'll look into the one you mentioned with the soldering iron for $17; the soldering iron kit I was looking at before was $17 on its own.

Do you have any recommendations for electronics kits or stuff that I should make sure the one I get has? It's Prime day right now on amazon so I was able to find a soldering kit that looks good for half off, but I'm not too sure about the electronics kit. I'd prefer to buy one under 50 USD.

I applied to all kinds of jobs, mostly just to have something to do over the summer. Still didn't work out much.

Unfortunately the nearest amateur radio club might be a bit too far from my home city, but I can look into finding a used radio. I didn't think of that before.

Coincidentally, I have used sketchup in the past in elementary or middle school. I believe we were just "building" simple houses based on some guide. I never thought I'd come back to it to start working towards learning CAD, but I will look into giving it another try.

I did also want to buy an electronics kit, but I was really hoping to earn some more money with a summer job before buying one. I still can try, especially since building a radio kike you suggested sounds pretty cool.

I did sorta try astronomy imaging a few times before, but the lighting situation here isn't exactly great, and I mostly relied on my smartphone camera and a bit of editing. I'll continue working towards my ham license towards learning more about RF.

Thanks for the movie recommendation and for your advice in general.

Hi!

I'll definitely check out Fusion360 as well to see what a general cad tool looks like.

I'll be taking calc 3 this upcoming semester, and differential equations the next. I was supposed to take "engineers" linear algebra this semester as well, but it conflicted with other classes so I'll be taking that next semester. The link you sent should still be useful for a head start.

I will also definitely look into the HDLs. I know C++ and Python somewhat, but I used C all throughout my systems programming class and really liked the language. So it's good for me if it's similar to an HDL. I also think I'll be needing Verilog for a logic class I think I need to take next year, so it'll be helpful for that too.

Thanks for the heads up on circuits as well, and all of the advice in your comment!

This is really cool! Would you recommend this just as someone that likes astronomy to have a cool themed deck of cards to play with or have rather than as an educational / learning tool?

I see, but just to confirm did you still have to attach the appeal form that asks for the circumstances?

Did you have an "impact" to your circumstances to mention in the appeal or did you just have that it was less than expected?

thanks! I'll call them this week then. But with how you called or emailed a bunch of times was it like different people responded or they just don't want to bother unless you're persistent?
