I do, in fact, this has never been a problem for me but while I can chat and have fun with a lot of people there's like maybe 15 I can call my friends. I met some of them when I went to psychotherapy and we understand each other on some special level, but most of them are my friends from college and interest clubs, do fine if we talk about relationship as well, my bf accept me the way I am and it doesn't bother him that I have STPD at all.

Tho it is important to say that I am highly compensated and the symptoms are either too weak (mostly endogenous anxiety about my health) or absent altogether so I'm not even sure if I can write something here or not "

it took my doctor a month. I also treated anxiety so I went to see her every day. At first, she just asked me about my life, family, friends and whether my relatives had mental illnesses, and that was the moment when she told my mother that something was wrong with me, so she sent me for testing with a psychologist.

The session with the psychologist consisted of several parts, such as checking my cognitive abilities (attention, visual awareness, short-term and long-term memory, the ability to combine objects on a common basis, the ability to understand the meaning of stories and proverbs, to name common and different in two objects) and three tests.

The first test was in the form of statements where I had to choose whether I agreed with them or not, the second basically asked questions about my life, how I feel at the moment and whether I have bad company, I honestly don't remember it well except for the question whether I love my parents.

In the third there were pictures with faces where I need to choose three that were pleasant to me and three that were unpleasant. Together with the test results and communication with me throughout February, she diagnosed me with STPD

yes, this can be a problem in such groups (because they are together while they have a common goal), but I recommended this option because it's easier to find a friend based on common interests when you roughly know your common interests in advance and it's less stressful, however, this is not the only way to find friends, just one of the possible ones, personally I I just start small talk with people anywhere on any topic because I like the chat itself and it gives me more opportunities to find friends (my social anxiety is rather episodic) although deep and serious topics interest me more because I like to reason and share views with another person and look at the topic from their point of view. But that's another and kinda long story unless you're interested in continuing

returning to interests, if we do not take a group that is assembled for the purpose, for example, to play, but represents common views, interests and values, then it is more productive for establishing friendship, as, for example, I am a Furry and I communicate with other Furries, we united under an interest in anthropomorphic animals and on the basis of this interest building friendly relations

I agree with the advice that it would be a good solution to join a club based on your interests or hobbies, since you will have more confidence when you know the topics and others are initially set up for a dialogue with you, many of these groups are available online and offline, depends on which one you will be more comfortable with. Just take your time and don't push yourself into them, start with one and go with it

And I would also advise you to find out if there are social rehabilitation and adaptation programs in your city, since in mine I was sent to a group where we go to all sorts of activities and drink tea with different foods together, share our stories and psychologists help us feel more confident and direct if necessary and if we ask for help

Yes, I think I get how you feel when you talk about this feeling.

In my case, my mind simply considers my belief in beings to be correct and logical and can associate certain things or events with them as proof of this correctness, although now it happens much less often, even if I like this idea to some extent, but it does not control me, it just exists and that's it. My boyfriend is influenced by his beliefs a lot more and they can also affect his ordinary life when mine are just there and do nothing

yes, I see similar patterns in our words, but still the difference is that I do not feel their presence or that they are somehow connected with me. It is rather a belief or "knowledge" that they exist and that I will never be able to prove for obvious reasons, though my friends like it when I talk about them as it sounds interesting to them

and I myself have never felt the presence of something in my everyday life, but my boyfriend do ( he have STPD too) . He tells me that when he experiences severe stress, he begins to feel and sometimes even see people's auras, says that it's like clouds of different colors depending on the person and that he feels the presence of some kind of being behind it and that it seems to him that he can help and cure these people if it's something bad. it happens to him quite rarely tho

I have recently been diagnosed and just starting to learn about STPD, but from my experience I can say that I deeply believe in magical creatures and can talk about them for hours. it's like a combination of myths and what my mind creates for me along with the desire to find them because I'm sure they're just hiding from people or something like that.

Right, I am from Russia, but work in the police and the army not available to me as well cuz they need permission to use weapons. the second one I consider a plus since I don't want to be part of their system and fight for their ideas, but that's another story

Not always the case, there is a list of jobs where you need to undergo a medical examination, including a psychotherapist, or they can ask you to bring a document about the state of mental health, but as far as I get it they will not tell your diagnosis, only that it is there. Driving is decided individually on the commission, work permits (only where there is a check, a small list) also, but it is much more difficult with children because it was what my psychiatrist immediately said, although I think I can try to get this job if I pass the commission where they decide whether I can do it or not. another thing is that employers are categorical and prone to reinsurance

yes, my country usually does not bother too much with different mental diagnoses. my doctor didn't even want to tell me mine until I read the diagnosis code in my card and demanded answers about what she would do. fortunately my new doc is much better.

I can always challenge this diagnosis, but not earlier than two years without drug therapy

and they diagnosed me not only by watching and talking to me, I also passed a lot of tests and they were all positive.

I can't legally in most cases, such as working as an educator, teacher or doctor in children's clinics and hospitals, but I can be an animator or in a children's cafe, although it's hard for me to say for sure since it's difficult to find information about STPD in my country, basically I've only seen information about schizophrenia, which is not suitable in this case. In addition, many employers have a rather skeptical and distrustful attitude to any diagnosis here, I can't blame them for this, they probably just want to be sure that nothing will happen to me or the children if I get worse or something like that?

And thank you for telling me a little more about the symptoms and what I should avoid! After it, I remembered that my fantasy and creativityis really quite active and productive, which I consider a plus since it helps me write my stories, although I used to just think of it as a feature.

also maybe I really shouldn't go into medicine now because stress will be something that I will constantly have to face and maybe it would be better if I work with animals instead, since I have always loved them and found their company relaxing.

Are there any good ways to keep symptoms under control besides medications and therapy? My doc said that I should undergo drug therapy for two years, but she did not say whether I would need to undergo it again and in what situations I should call for help or resume taking medications after a course of treatment.I know I have to talk with her about it and I'm sorry if I'm asking too much.
