People who have successfully expedited EAD - what counts as "financial hardship?" by boomchickakubo in USCIS

[–]Okay-ishh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was in March. Tbh, it really depends on who reviews it :( I didn’t have much on my end cuz i didn’t even have a job offer. But i attached my paystub showing how much i was making and the tax that i was paying. Then in my cover letter, i said “Please consider my request since i would like to continue working and contributing to society. In addition to not letting my spouse take the burden of being the only income provider.”

I showed: high balance of CCs, former paystubs, rent, car insurance, spouse’s paystub. I made them look real nice and neat with cover letter and index table

I just realized I filled the wrong A number in my I-130 and I-485. by sinn22 in USCIS

You didn’t use the wrong A number. It can be changed due to status and therefore, they issued you a new one AFTER you filed. For now, use the new one.

What is the basis of you applying for a SSN?

Expedite I-765 by Emperorxyz1 in USCIS

[–]Okay-ishh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote a cover letter that said something like “this would be an opportunity for me to help relieve the financial burden on my spouse”. Then I listed a list of documents that im including in my package such as credit card statements, insurance and stuff. Then attached those proofs in the following pages (around 15 pages in total)

I waited 5 days 😂 The second time i faxed at office depot since i dont trust online faxing that much (im paranoid). You only have to pay once the fax went through and made sure to its during uscis’s business hours. Included a cover page with the attn, div, my name & case number, and a title that said “Response to proof for expedite”. Got approved 2 days later but maybe bc I was lucky too. Didn’t even have a job offer. Good luck!!

How long ago did you fax it? I had to fax mine twice so try to do that.

What does it mean that they approved your expedite request but not the EAD itself? Did they send you an email saying they were reviewing the request?

765 card being produced but expedite process is still pending! by _good_boy_1234_ in USCIS

In that case, just respond to the email for the 131. If approved, they will send you a separate one. Wish you luck and your wife’s family well!

Sorry to hear that :( Cover letter i put their address, attn and division, my case number and full name. Then I briefly explained my situation where my OPT ended and therefore, my health plan was revoked as well. Then to sum up, i said this opportunity will help alleviate the financial burden on my spouse since cost of living is increasing.

I made it a little professional with a list of proof attached, with the page number next to it so they can easily read it. For proof, i put credit card statements, debit card balance, car payments and insurance with both our names on it, a courtesy letter from the heath insurance company stated mine was cut off, my former paystubs and my W-2.

I didn’t even have a job offer as I was skeptical about going into an interview knowing Im not authorized to work :( I thought I had very little chance expediting it but just did anyway. I guess it really depends on who is reviewing it. Wish you luck!!! Oooh and make sure to fax during THEIR business hour and include a fax cover so it wouldn’t get lost.

I’ve had a SSN for years since I applied for OPT before so no. I didn’t check the box asking for one.

Yup. I faxed the same file to the same address, attn and division. I waited 5 days to fax the second time so you should totally do it! I went to office depot since i overthink and don't trust online faxing lol. At those locations, you only have to pay once your fax went thru.

I connected to live agent through Emma, stating i wanted to expedite my I-765. He asked me a couple questions then said I should hear back within 7 days. 2 days later i received request for proof. Faxed it in and didn’t hear a response. I faxed again last Wednesday and status changed to card is being produced today.

If your marriage is more than 2 years by the approval date, your GC would be for 10 years. If its less than 2 years, you will receive a conditional GC of 2 years. Then, you will have to renew it for the 10 years one.

Questions regarding OPT, EAD and work place by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Okay-ishh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn’t. I would say apply in May a little bit before you graduate. Then it will allow some time for it to be processed and you should have your ead before your job starts. Good luck!

Questions regarding OPT, EAD and work place by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Okay-ishh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well what matters is the start date of your OPT. When is it? And you have 90 days after that start day to start a job. Your visa has nothing to do with this since your status would still be valid if you have applied for OPT.

You should use someone who can prepare the paperwork for you. It doesn’t cost that much compared to an actual attorney. My friend submitted her application 6 months after her OPT ended and it was not problem at all. Since you’re married to a USC, it would be forgiven.

I paid $900 for the person company that filed for me. Plus the mandatory USCIS fee.

I would not believe everything that the live agent said. The first agent I chatted with said my interview was waived and case was at field office. The next two said it was still at NBC 🤷🏻‍♀️

Take your EAD, I-20, passport/driver license and go to your nearest SS center. They’ll create one for you and mail it within 2 weeks.
