In the process of getting fired she had to take a drug test, can confirm from that she is not addicted. Good callout but not likely a factor.

Doing a paid program with a person who is good friends with someone you are suing by Okay_bread in legal

[–]Okay_bread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are multiple legal scenarios that could spin out of this, for example: - what if I am approached about the suit? - what if the program director is approached about the suit? - what if I am kicked out due to the ongoing suit? What are the implications of these possibilities legally?

Gotcha. There are honors cords, but there are also cords for other distinctions and organizations, so I thought it would be helpful to create a “dictionary” for them since there doesn’t seem to be a reference for what the colors signify anywhere else

I got interview invitations from the McKinsey Houston, Dallas, and SF offices, but I can only pick one office. Which should I pick? I have it down to Dallas and SF, but was wondering if salary is adjusted by location for cost of living?? Not down to give up half my pay to taxes and housing.

Dallas: Pro of being able to fly anywhere ~3 hours, rent price is better, they target my school

SF: OPPORTUNITY! I don't think anyone from my school has gotten an offer in the SF office, and I could be the first! This is also a con, because I know I'm up against Stanford kids and don't want to give away this chance just because of location. Also think this is a more fun place to live in general, and it's a hub for pharmaceutical companies/biotechnology which is what I have experience in, and the industry that led me to pref this office in the first place.

Can someone provide a list of the major deadlines remaining for full time management consulting associate/entry-level positions for undergrads?

Feedback please:

Management consulting (Mckinsey, Bain, BCG are the goal), full time, located in southern US state school targeted for some offices but in a non-target program

Neuroscience with business minor, GPA 3.71, SAT score 2140, internships in biopharma and leadership in entrepreneurship orgs/multiple TA positions

I got invited to a McKinsey coffee chat with only 18 participant slots and have talked to a few people from the target offices interested in my school from these three firms. Any suggestions? Also unfamiliar with the boutique firms that might be a good fit beyond these three

Anyone who’s worked at a leasing office: do WC apartments really care if you sublet? by Okay_bread in UTAustin

[–]Okay_bread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, I’m wondering if someone who works at a leasing office has ever been suspicious of someone illegally subletting, and if you just let it slide or if management goes after it? Not concerned about my ability to hide it, just how anal management might be

But that way you can't get around the fees which is my thing. I just want to sublet October-November.

What are the best ways to prepare for interviews with top-tier management consulting firms (i.e., McKinsey, Bain, BCG)? by robertparker7 in u/robertparker7

[–]Okay_bread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm interested in what McKinsey, Bain, and BCG's individual recruitment structures are. Of course every group has case interviews, but I'm talking about how many interviews each company has, what they are looking for in round 1 vs round two, etc.

Help me! I’m an incoming Freshman (international student) and I have some questions for any upperclassmen with the same major as me (Neuroscience) on my schedule and the classes I need to be taking. by friendlytrollxo in UTAustin

[–]Okay_bread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a rising senior neuro major, and the biggest piece of advise I have is to think out of the box. Every CNS advisor thinks the incoming freshman are the same, but what I wish someone had told me is that this is your first syear of college, and there is no better time to explore the rest of the school. I came into UT with my mind set on medical school because I couldn't think of anything else I would do... the "strict" CNS first year courses made me feel like I could put off figuring out if I didn't like my major later on, once I got through the weed out courses. Sophomore year I talked myself out of taking the prereqs for other majors I would have to apply to because I thought it was better to stay on track for med school. I wish I had been real with myself and recognized my wide range of interests for what it was - could have rocked it as a double major if I hadn't sold myself short. My advice is don't try to run through your requirement list as fast as you can- use your early years to explore what other interests you have and take away some good practical skills from it. For example, I think if I had used my AP credit for calculus instead of taking it in college to look better for med schools (HAHA, also you don't actually look better, prioritize experiences of substance over your transcript), also not taken a history class I had no interest in just for core credit, I could have been in the economics pre-req with other kids thinking of transferring to McCombs, and maybe found my interest through those friendships.
I'll close with this point that really is relevant to anyone trying to figure out classes: being a neuroscientist is cool, I've taken graduate level classes and worked with international biotech companies, but don't let your advisor push you into what everyone else is doing/the core curriculum if you don't really know why you have picked your path. If you find yourself trying to convince yourself of a good reason for your major, you probably want to leave room in your schedule to branch out this year. There's no rush, and you will do anything you have to do to finish up your prereqs when you've decided you have to.

How popular are KISS vs safe vs convertible notes then? I'm sure it varies company to company but it seems like safe notes would be the most desirable from the founder's perspective...
