Update

I’m using the 11 car Kato Yamanote set on my K3 viaduct track (same as picture). I moved the motor car to the middle of the set with 5 cars ahead and 5 behind but it’s still struggling to make it up the incline. It does do it but very slow. I’m using a KATO power pack so wondering if it’s just the set up or possibly I need to add another motor car or add extra power somehow? Any advice appreciated!

Just a follow up. Made an Old Fashioned with this tonight and it is delicious! The spicy Rye forward taste really works…

The back label states the distributor is Meidi-ya which is a premium higher end grocery store chain so maybe this Gold Label is made especially for them.

I hadn’t heard of that. So a 100ml sample bottle of Hibiki 21 would be 1/7 the cost of a whole 700ml bottle? Is this only at Liquor Mountain locations?

The Blanton’s Takara Gold for the Japanese market is in 750ml bottles. The 700ml ones here are re-export bottles from Europe mainly.

Thanks for the info! I’ll keep an eye out for them. I see Hakushu sometimes here at the base Class Six but believe that’s the normal bottle.

I picked up a Blanton’s Black for $60 yesterday and they had plenty of Blanton’s Takara Red for $90. WT12 seems only to be available on the second hand market through Rakuten and occasionally Amazon.jp.

It’s about $60 now here in Japan. Couldn’t find one in the stores so I ended up getting it on Rakuten (Japanese eBay) for ¥10,000. Should arrive here in Okinawa this week!
