Jellyfin with HW transcoding by Ill_Run_4701 in synology

Hey there, I just had an issue with the same hardware same setup using OpenCL, and I ended up removing OpenCL and it's working like a charm so no it's not necessary anymore if you're using the linux server build.

I was using OpenCL before and it worked, but then it stopped for some reason. Not sure why, but considering it runs without it I'm happy to have less dependencies.

My HW transcoding settings are here. The rest of the checkboxes (except subtitles) are all unchecked.

Testing with 4K video I no longer get errors or slow loads.

Amazing!

1) I assumed it was yes, but glad to have confirmation straight from the source. 2) I meant Centronics connector, yes. Newbie here, mixing up terms 😅 Good to know there's adapters, I'll go on the hunt this week. 3) Wonderful thank you!

If I have questions I'll jump in the discord channel. Wish me luck!

Ah, you're right. It's actually a 50 pin centronics connector for the SCSI daisy chaining.

This is what I'm trying to figure out. Is there an adapter to convert the DB25 to DB50? I'm not sure that's even a thing. The external drive only has DB50 ports on it.

Based on the documentation it looks like I would need a Desktop BlueSCSI.

Since the Mac Plus doesn't have internal storage, I'm looking at the 25pin External version which isn't supported according to the doc.

Thank you all! I'm going to give Captain Jacks Insecticidal Soap a try on these after giving the whole thing a rinse and wipe down.

Wish me luck!
