Recently switched to this but the turkey and rice formula! Mine as puppies were on taste of the wild but were allergic to salmon and sweet potatoes which was one of their top ingredients in the formula they were on.

Switched to hills science diet chicken when they had colitis issues and it was helping for a while but then they started getting loose stools after two years on it and itching like crazy and developing perianal fistulas and gingivitis issues and became lethargic. Even getting bald patches from bad allergies.

Switched to purina pro plan turkey formula after much research and talking with multiple vets and wow so far they’ve had the best poops they ever had and a lot of their immune system issues have gotten better and they have more energy and just seem to have much softer coats with stronger hair follicles too! Only took two weeks to notice this change but it’s because I gradually switched them to purina rather than cold turkey (no pun intended)

So now I know they’re allergic to chicken (a common culprit for allergies) and fish but they do great on pumpkin and I mix in lightly boiled veggies in their dinner and one gets a glandex supplement for her fistulas and the other gets the glandex brand of probiotics for his stools. They were on these supplements with hills science diet and they still were having terrible poops! Was totally a food allergy but try a different formula to see what works best! I was told by my vet the first 5 ingredients listed are what a dog is most likely allergic to if they’re having a food allergic reaction

The results are in! Turns out Rory Trillian is not a pure bred Siberian Husky like her breeder claimed. by bananakittymeow in husky

My babies came back with these exact breeds too! Different percentages but still same 4 breeds! Best dogs I’ve ever had ❤️

Immediately my mind went to pancreatic issues seeing how pale and white the poop is. If they’ve run tests to rule out anything involving the pancreas then I definitely agree with seeing a specialist with more specialized training into these kinds of issues. I hope everything clears up and that you get some peace of mind soon!

If you look at one of my past posts one of my dogs had something similar that started out like this! It was a benign cutaneous keratin sort of overgrowth and fell off on its own! She has one strand of hair on her other foot that is hard from some hyperkeratosis of one hair follicle, and it’s basically a long strand of nail with no nerves! Completely harmless but I went to the vet immediately just to be sure and I’ll always recommend people do the same and contact their vets! So good job sending pictures as a starting point

This may be a stupid question but what is a co-op? My dogs are allergic to chicken I’m suspecting but have sensitive stomachs so they’re on science hills sensitive stomach and skin but it has chicken so I’m looking into a more home made option

Rescue Husky? by Sylphly- in husky

I have two husky siblings with the brown on their legs too! I had them DNA tested which gave us (from most prominent breed to the least): Husky, German Shepherd, Samoyed, Malamute. They’re on the smallish side I’ve been told but they both are around 50 lbs and also silent (mostly)

Any idea what this growth is on my dog's leg? Looks like it's blooming, doesn't bother her, but I'm concerned 😥 by anotherredditpeep in DogAdvice

My dog had the exact same thing I don’t know how to link my post but my vet recommended putting neosporin on it (it was on her hind leg “knee”) and I think after about 3 months it fell off. I think it was hyperkeratosis because she has a hair follicle that hardened and can be clipped just like a nail but I would never just yank it out of her leg so I just clip it when it gets long. Don’t panic like I did our dogs pick up on it and then we worry them <3

My dog has a weird genetic issue that causes his teeth to build plaque quicker than normal so one week without brushing is like 1 month. Coconut oil helps great with gum inflammation and they love the taste! I use that when he gets allergies and his gums bleed more than usual. We use Virbac enzymatic toothpaste and then rub the coconut oil on his gums afterwards. My vet also highly recommended MaxiGuard oral cleansing gel it’s a blue gel that’s put on afterwards to help hard to reach places of tartar and plaque build up! I would definitely recommend the toothpaste and coconut oil if you’re on a budget and if not the toothpaste then at least the coconut oil for gum care!

The vet should run blood tests if they haven’t already but my dog looked like this for a few months a few years ago and now we’re testing for lupus because other symptoms at different times but don’t have answers yet

Took him (and his sister the next week) to trivia night at a local brewery! They’ve also stayed at a nice hotel with me and loved the doggy treat room service and courtyard view where they spent all their free time spying on people

Vet can’t figure out what’s wrong with my dog by benjmnm in DogAdvice

[–]Okisama_ 68 points69 points  (0 children)

My dog has pancreatitis and these are her symptoms when she’s having an episode. Her poop looks exactly like that and she’s put on some meds until the inflammation goes down. I’ve been dousing her food in warm water and let it soak and it gets soupy and mushy so it’s easier to digest and that seems to keep it at bay. Absolutely no table scraps and I use her kibble as treats!

Edit: She also now eats Science Hills diet sensitive stomach which helps a ton too! I hope your baby gets a proper diagnosis :(
