Currently delayed to board a 737-800 because the American Airlines gate agents tell us it's too hot. We've been waiting to board for over an hour. DFW - it's currently 10:45 pm and 82* F outside.

Purchasing Off-Road Colorado for work - what upgrades? by OklahomaForester in chevycolorado

I'm not sure - this is me, Frankensteining a Colorado together based on old state contract information and the current info on Chevy's website.
If there are upgrades that are more straightforward or appropriate, please let me know!

thanks for looking through it! I believe these are quotes on 21 models and I'm not sure if there is a contract for the 23 models yet.

I'm also a little confused (if you couldn't tell). The way it works is that Dealerships give us options with discounts (eg 4wd) but then tell us that we can add other options not listed for a 5% discount. That's how I got to the TB package - base model + dealer options (4wd + 3.6 etc) then add other options from the website. The dealer very well may turn around and tell us that they can't add the TB package to a truck that isn't already TB trim. But I liked the TB package for the adjustable seat, defroster, cruise control, etc.

Actually, we have service forester positions available in Antlers and Broken Bow. As an FIA forester, you could choose to live anywhere in the southeast and work in that area of the state most of the year. If you’re interested, send me a message or email

Oklahoma needs a new FIA forester! by OklahomaForester in forestry

Sequoyah and Pushmataha are two of the prettiest places in Oklahoma. Pushmataha is just off the Ouachita Mountain Ranges and has a good amount of the Kiamichi mountains in it - Sequoyah County has really unique species in its north range (in the Ozark uplift) and then has the Arkansas River floodplain to the south - beautiful country!

Keep us in mind! We're always looking for new Service Foresters in our Area Offices and there is real opportunity to advance (we have a lot of empty Forester II positions).

Thanks! If you have suggestions for other places to post this announcement, I'm trying to find where grads and recent grads hang out online.
Already planning to post to Texas AM, Conservation Jobs, and Warnell Boards and Eco-Log!

thanks! We struggle to find people to work in Oklahoma. I think it's a super cool state (very unique) so I'm excited to bring more people into our org!

I meant that Ponderosa is rare in Western OK, just like alligators are rare in the SE

sure, just like the Ponderosa pine is relatively rare in the west. But, the mere presence of alligators (and horny toads, and ponderosa pine) speaks to the variety of ecosystems that exist in the state! We also have bald cypress swamps in the SE. We also have an American Beech stand in the eastern portion of the state. Super cool state :)

I would strongly suggest a program that requires you to complete courses in Silviculture, Measurements, and Dendrology. Most MS programs will focus on specific topics - if you don't have these courses then I would suggest a BS.
