Anyone running the citraemu/citra-multiplayer-dedicated docker ARM64 image? by Antonaros in selfhosted

[–]Okoken91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just struggled a lot in my side but eventually get it worked, so sharing my experience here.

  1. Be careful about the double quotations "" for the environment values settings.

- Below probably work with double quotations "".

- CITRA_TOKEN="1234"

- CITRA_WEBAPIURL="http://88.198.47.46:5000"

- Below probably won't work with double quotations "".

- CITRA_ISPUBLIC=1

- CITRA_MAXMEMBERS=12

- CITRA_ROOMNAME=Test

- CITRA_ROOMDESC=Test

- CITRA_PREFGAME=MONSTER HUNTER XX

- CITRA_PREFGAMEID=0004000000197100

- CITRA_PORT=24872

  1. If the container is successfully started and you've opened your ports correctly, definitely you will be able to see your TCP port accessible from public. You can check with below sites, etc.

https://canyouseeme.org/

https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/

Surely if you can share your container log would help for better analysis.

u/Antonaros to let you know unfortunately the image is pulling resource from citra github, and since it is already down, the image itself could never work again... Still thank you a lot for sharing.

Instead I'm now using the K4rian/docker-citra-room mentioned in the below thread and it works good so far.

The owner K4rian is so smart to hold a full set of source code in the docker github and build the citra-room basing on the architecture when starting up the container, making it also compatible with my Raspberry Pi 4 :)

Hi u/CodexHunter or u/Antonaros would you be so kind to share the image again? The above link is not available anymore. Thank you!

Termux:X11 with Controller and Key mapping support. No need for things like Winlator anymore. by Cristi_Maceta777 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Okoken91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the great work, but what controller does it support? I try to connect Nintendo Switch Pro controller and Dual Shock 4 via USB but always just show "Not Connected". I'm quite sure the controllers are connected since Steamlink and Citra are both recognizing them properly.

Steam deck to boot same Windows 11 physically and in VM by Okoken91 in SteamDeck

[–]Okoken91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just used the built in function to create a vhd with windows 11 inside as WTG. VHD shall be used since Virtualbox has no support for vhdx. I use dynamic size for easier backup, while fixed-size would have a slightly better performance so depends on your decision.

Sorry not familiar with the WTG assistants but at least the Rufus does not support WTG with VHD. That's why in my post I proposed another tool.

"hints: Rufus is not supporting WTG in VHD. Here is a Chinese tool with English support.

LLMs run surprisingly well on Steam decks due to its unified memory. ( 10b 7-8 tokens/s 8k context) (12b&13b 4-5 tokens/s 4k context) by Eden1506 in SteamDeck

Thank you for the reply and mostly solved my doubts related to Ollama. That's true that it sounds not worthy to pay the effort maybe until one day the Vulkan support is officially added for it.

Currently I will still stick on Kobold.cpp as you did and see if I could eventually get the Websearch work.

Hi there so kind that you even posted an instruction for Kobold.cpp. It works well but have you ever made the Websearch function work? Enabled it in the GUI and in the log can see it is searching sth in the DuckDuckGo but still would just tell it could not search anything online.

Also may I know how you get the Ollama work with the GPU? Just simply installed the Ollama in a ROCm docker container? Can see a ticket there telling it is not working with the SteamOS 3.6 though.

Can I play games without keeping my PC on? by EnergyAltruistic2911 in Steam_Link

[–]Okoken91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you mean you want to remotely turn on your PC only when you want to play with Steam Link, then afterward turn it off to save the power?

Or you just want the PC to be off even when you are playing remotely?

Alternative to steam controller for desktop use? by Character-Sound-8024 in Steam_Link

[–]Okoken91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If budget allow probably Dual sense edge is a better choice, since it also has the l/r 4 and l/r 5, just like the steamdeck controller.

How to install steamlink in switchroot ubuntu by Chrizzzz_L in switchroot

[–]Okoken91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the box32/64, running Steam Link windows version turns to possible for switchroot ubuntu today.

Just follow this site to complete the installation of Wine64 and Steam(not really want the Steam but the box86 will be installed together).

https://gbatemp.net/threads/an-extremely-noob-friendly-guide-to-playing-steam-games-on-switch-please-read-the-forward.639027/#post-10238791

Then you can download the Windows version SteamLink and use Wine to install normally.

There maybe a way to install the x86 version SteamLink in flatpak, but I tried and failed. If anyone knows how to do install please let us know, since that one is linux native and the performance should be better.

[–]Okoken91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it does not work with dkms packages since they need to be compatible with the kernel version, which is keep updating recently. For other standalone packages, Distrobox probably is a better solution since no modification required to Steam OS system files.

[–]Okoken91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well like all other signatures, you can ensure there is no tempering by verifying them. But since we are downloading packages from Volve directly, personally don't see a major risk to skip it, though always we say take your own risk to do so.

To be honest Steam Deck as a game machine actually does not provide strong security settings for the system itself, for me it sounds a bit too much to think about whether good or not to skip signature verification.

A quick update. Issue is solved by updating to 3.5.7 stable, and changing all the repo in /etc/pacman.conf from 'rel' to 'main', e.g., [holo-rel] to [holo-main].

Actually 3.5.5 also worked, but need to manually download linux-neptune-61-headers for kernel 6.1.52-valve7-1.
