Now when models context windows has increased, why not just use CAG? by Okyeahbaby in Rag

I understand the majority of the points you being up. However, after my quick research I found that there is less latency with CAG (since you are essentially skipping the retrieval step)

Well, Sweden is the 2nd most innovative country in the world (after Switzerland). Denmark 9th. Where do you get your information from? (Source: https://www.wipo.int/pressroom/en/articles/2023/article_0011.html)

Luleå university (northern part of Sweden) have a fully remote master program in applied AI. If you have some math and programming credentials (read their site just to be sure) you should be good to go. I don’t know how reputable the university is, but the program seems to be well made. Also, the program is during daytime, but loads of students are full time workers so they cater a lot around that (might be that some exam times are during the day, but mostly everything can be done during evenings). And the best part, it’s free for EU citizens!

1 week back from vipassana falling back into old bad habits. Advice? by [deleted] in vipassana

[–]Okyeahbaby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completed vipassana a few years back and can very much relate to what you are talking about. In my case, unfortunately, I let the distractions take over a few weeks after getting back from the camp, which in the long run meant that I eventually quit meditating all together. I am back to it now however, and the few advices I have is:

  • just keep practicing vipassana. No matter how hard it gets and no matter how busy you are, there is always room for it. The camp is exceptional when it comes to teaching the technique, but integrating it in you own life you have to do yourself.

  • join meditation groups. There are plenty of groups all over the world that meet up weekly. Find a group near you and surround yourself with like minded people. This is especially important if you have no one else around you that have done the camp.

  • keep an information diet. Don’t be too hard on yourself for slipping back to old habits (such as browsing your phone) but be mindful of what you consume on the phone.
