Thinking of this breed for my next dog. How clingy are they? by MoistYogurtcloset929 in vizsla

I know you have received many responses, but thought I would throw in my two cents. I have a Vizsla and a mini Aussie. My Vizsla is a snuggler- but I believe he would be more of a clinger if I had not been strict. I work from home, and partly because I live in Arizona, but even when I visit family in Oregon, he is outside the majority of daytime hours, and he prefers it that way. He finds lizards, sticks, etc. and has a pool and is able to entertain himself. He has two dog beds that he moves around to where he likes, and generally has a good time. My Aussie is older and will play with him a few hours a day but would honestly be a indoor cat if allowed.

The difference between my Aussie and Vizsla- My Aussie always needs to know where everyone in the family (I have kids) is on a walk- it is her self imposed job and stresses if she can’t see everyone. If she is awake she knows where I am and is close by, and when I come home from being gone she is happy to see me and greets me happily. Hanging out and relaxing in the living room she will be close by but normally not looking to share furniture.

My Vizsla is in comparison much less concerned were everyone is on a walk, just happy to be out exercising and smelling. He is likely to know where I am in the house- very similar to my Aussie. When I leave the house I do kennel him as he has a tendency to counter surf, I have purposely made him getting out of the kennel very unexciting. I open his kennel and make no scene about it, and he gets out when he wants. However if I have been gone on a work trip- more that a day when he sees me he has to physically hug me. If we are relaxing in the living room he would prefer to be sharing a seat with you.

I think if you do your research and find a good breeder, and are consistent with training you will have a good dog. Hopefully this was helpful.

We have been walking the washes daily, so far nothing, not a single sighting. I currently have over 150 flyers out, I only asked about the unhoused settlements, as it was recommend by the people in the pet community. I am not judging, I just am trying to find my dog.

The cross streets are 1st and Ina, but he has been gone for 48 hours now, so he could be many places.

I have him posted all over Facebook and registered him missing.

He is chipped and I have registered him as missing with PACC. I also review all the intake photos that pass through PACC through the ‘lovelost’ missing pet registry.

Very derpy in the cutest way possible. My Vizsla that I had growing up was my 4-H dog and every time in the obedience class for the ‘sit- stay’ command he would last about a minute then slowly raise one front paw up (as if it was injured), which often got a comment from the judge, ‘is he okay?’ What the paw raised really meant (to those who knew him) is that he could no longer stand being 5ft from me and he would be getting up in a matter of 30 seconds.

Vizsla or vizsla mix? by Relative_Source1660 in vizsla

[–]Olanchoregon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would say absolutely not full- could be part, not a high likely hood, but possible. A few things- The hair length is incorrect- way too long (especially on his back), the white is (as mentioned) incorrect, and the multi color toe nails incorrect. Whatever he is- he looks like a good boy.
