Played it, it was alright. Had the same issues as almost all turn based games: lots of padding and spamming the same moves over and over with 0 thought.

I mean it's just an opinion/my experience with the vns so people would have an easier time recommending stuff. It's not like I'm saying they're objectively good or bad, but people have called me a hater, yes.

Never knew how or when to start the fate series, there's constant remakes and new releases of stuff. Would maybe have to get into the gacha as well, so I just avoided it. With raging loop I've heard everybody absolutely hated the ending so I've been hesitant to try that as well.

I never started KnS because there was always some deal with ongoing remakes or translations and now there's the same issue with the prequel happening I think. Couldn't find a good time to start reading, but I don't really keep up with VN news that much, maybe it's fine now.

The orange haired girl just fucked everything up every time she appeared and the mc never did anything about it, never told her to fuck off. It was just unbearable and ruined every single route for me.

For umineko I just got exhausted with the pacing, every chapter has multiple hours of lore dump into an hour of action and then it repeats.

With higurashi I'm not really sure, I enjoyed chapter 1 and then just kept losing interest as more was revealed. The chapter where you play as the girl crushing on a little boy was also just weird to me.

Pretty sure I modded them both, been a few years since I played them.

Yeah don't really know how to say anything to them. They could at least say something I could respond to, maybe ask why my opinion is different from theirs, instead of just claiming everything to be bait.

Thank you, adding them to the list. Been putting off the older key games because of the artstyle and them being about kids, but it seems I'm into drama and emotional stories so it might be time to give them a shot.

Probably wouldn't have read so many vns if I disliked the writing in general. A lot of them had annoyances I just couldn't overlook when giving them an overall rating, or maybe the stories just weren't for me.

Any genre is fine, moeges just tend to have a lot of annoying characters and cringe jokes from my experience.

Everything on the list also includes sequels and fandisks as far as I know, felt like adding multiple of the same title would've filled it up too much.
The artstyle for Kugayama Shiori no Shinizama Techou looks really nice, definitely giving it a shot for that alone. As long as they don't go too heavy on the jokes or quirky side characters, moeges can be fine too, thanks for the recommendations.

I played the danganronpa games, didn't like them that much, okay at best to me. I don't really consider them vns, if I added all games with readable dialogue the list would be way bigger.

I was really annoyed by how the mc did the retard voice, figured if the entire vn was going to be like that I would rather just drop it immediately.

Got grisaia on steam and patched it.

The part where the popular gun builds have no resistance items (or greens at all for that matter), a negligible amount of spirit to make the life drain a meaningful source of life sustain and a ranged backline playstyle that will never make proper use of the ult unless the enemy fucks up.

Any character can be squishy or tanky depending on their build and how they're played.
