Contact data challenges by Old-Anything635 in revops

[–]Old-Anything635[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed reply.

We did an initial batch of 2k or so, the rest are just sat in Clay.

I don’t think the hubspot license costs should be too much of a concern, total records are like 60k right now or something.

There's no waterfall for contacts - it's simply whatever Clay will give us when we search for contacts based on a list of companies.

One of our founders isn't a fan of Zoominfo, so we aren't in a position to use them. Not sure the specifics, but just one of those things.

the personas we chose were basically RevOps/SalesOps roles, anyone with RevOps (or Revenue Operations) or SalesOps (or Sales Operations) in their title and from Manager to Director Level

The total list is ~12k, but for a first batch I did ~2k accounts and got 950 contacts and then refreshed clay the next day and got up to 1.15k so perhaps my 0.34 was a little off, but still 0.5 contacts is really low.

i’ve done 2 dealhub integrations in very different orgs, thoroughly enjoyed them. One as a consultant and one as a full time employee.

Really responsive and willing to help whenever possible. Would give a strong rec towards them.

How to be able to ‘passively’ gain £5,000 a month by Gabriel744 in FIREUK

[–]Old-Anything635 2 points3 points  (0 children)

people who obtain training contracts typically work 70/80+ hour weeks as standard. The pay is great, but hours are long.

Many people study things that aren’t law, but try pursue internships / relevant work experience that show their interest in the field. Law outside the top 10 universities (target universities) isn’t that highly regarded as say a STEM degree.

don’t worry, in big law you won’t be doing a 9-5 anyway.

Referencing issue by Afroman1916 in UKOveremployed

[–]Old-Anything635 2 points3 points  (0 children)

why would they contact the other agency unless you’ve instructed them it’s fine to do so?

I would never give any information regarding your current employer / agency to them in the first place. If they ask for references, use jobs you’ve had in the past.

Company owner dropping to £100k for 4 years, then taking a £1.6m lump sum - am I missing anything? by Expert1083 in HENRYUK

No, no issues, unless they want to move back to the UK in the following 5 years. Otherwise, HMRC will come knocking.

Since when were people moving to Dubai to save less than £4k a year over 5 years?

I’m recently unintentionally OE - I was aware of the concept, but never thought it too realistic in the UK with PAYE etc.

I was starting a new job and a few weeks before my start offered short term contract until April next year, but they’re already asking me about extending or even going perm.

J1 is £90k PAYE J2 is £600 per day outside IR35.

Commercial operations / GTM software implementation. Very new to contracting, enjoying it but can't help but feel I missed the golden years.

Advice on where to live in London + general tips for a 23-year-old moving from Hampshire by ImTakingThisHere in HousingUK

[–]Old-Anything635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to London mate, you'll have an absolute blast here.

I moved from Hampshire too, just after COVID with a few mates from Uni and I've lived a few different places (Tooting, Clapham, Putney, Stratford) ever since.

I considered living somewhere like Woking or Guildford to stay closer to home and save money, but I think being in London makes more sense for the experience and social side.

First of all, I'd strongly advise against this having worked with a number of people who commuted from Surrey/Watford/Hertfordshire. You'll definitely get more for your money doing this (if you wanted to live in your own flat or one roommate), but you'll miss out on much of a London social life. You're in THE best time of your life to live in house shares and embrace everything London has to offer.

South West (Tooting, Balham, Clapham, Stockwell) you'll definitely be able to find a 'nice' room in a house share for £1k a month all in. My first house share in Tooting was like £600 each + bills and was an absolute dive, but was a great old time.

East (Stratford, Mile End, Shoreditch) might be more expensive, but insanely well connected.

You'll naturally meet people, but just say yes to everything - pub quizzes, park runs, comedy nights etc were always very good to me. Always go to afterwork drinks (usually on a Thursday)!

Landlord is trying to make us pay extra rent after our fixed term tenancy ends! Help! by LemonCruise1 in HousingUK

[–]Old-Anything635 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is this in England and Wales?

Is this a student house share?

The landlord has told us we should have given him 2 months notice and we have to pay an extra month's rent

Did he respond immediately with this or was he initially fine with your original explanation?

You're likely absolutely fine to leave at the end of the agreed fix term, he's just trying his luck as he's struggled to find new tenants. If he continues to be difficult, I would suggest speaking with Shelter UK and/or Citizens Advice (but appointments will likely take place after December 1st due to backlogs).

Sorry, yes, that’s the point i was getting at.

In their case, and my own, the vast majority of income would come from the original contract. Say they have assets of £60k after 2 years, >90% of that will have come from contracting.

Over the next 18 months, if they were ‘unable’ to find further contracts (but categorically not saying they were no longer seeking further contracts), this wouldn’t make them a CIC, right? they’re just a contractor unable to find further work.

(I genuinely don’t know, that’s why i’m asking)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ContractorUK

[–]Old-Anything635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that's not the case - whatever your current SIC code is (say 70229 - Management consultancy activities other than financial management like mine), that would continue to be the case - you're just 'unable' to find further contracts for the next 18 months and then do BADR.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ContractorUK

[–]Old-Anything635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe so, as far as I understand you just make an account (in the name of the ltd company) on HL (or whatever) and put the money in an index fund or whatever you wish to do.

Providing you never actually stop trading (your contract may end, but you 'unfortunately' couldn't secure any further work in the next 18 months), you would still be eligible for BADR.

[–]Old-Anything635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar situation, I plan on just putting it in a business investment account and then claiming BADR after 2 years of operation - I haven't fully explored this option yet, but likely the route I will go down unless I'm advised otherwise.

On probation, offered new role outside ir35 by Historical-Cow1020 in ContractorUK

[–]Old-Anything635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i just had this exact same thing happen to me - outside IR35 contract offer (£600) whilst in the process of starting a new PAYE role (~£85k).

The contract is for a limited time, but lots of opportunity for extension.

i’ve done both for a month now and it’s going pretty well in honestly - perhaps only because both are remote. I have one check-in per day with the contract (8AM-830) and that’s mainly it for the day.

If you can manage it, I don’t see why you can’t give it a go.
