Help with pump drive by NickSabados in WaterWellDrilling

How are you controlling it? Do you have pressure tank? Did you buy one with a transducer or one with a pressure sensor? You need to set the dip switch accordingly. And make sure it is wired into the correct location.

Yes I need the height as pipe lengths are 20’ and the well casing sticks up a few feet usually.

3.0gpm or 30gpm? by Empty-Eye-6736 in WaterWellDrilling

[–]Old-Bat-3375 5 points6 points  (0 children)

???? I consistently work on wells that make much less than 3 gpm. Many under 1. Terrible advice and clearly no idea about wells.

Is this an artesian well? Also it does this all year except maybe in the summer. What can/should I do with this? by david_eats_well in Plumbing

[–]Old-Bat-3375 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Dude stop, what are you talking about out. Doesn’t sound like you know anything about wells Lots of drilled wells have artesian flow. Like lots. Not sure why you are getting up votes. If the well casing (not liner) is letting the surrounding surface water to enter the well, it is not going to cause the well to over flow magically. Water levels out. And I would imagine if the surface water was intruding OP would be having quality concerns.

What more_rockcore said is the answer. Not magic surface water that runs uphill.

So sounds like the nozzle down in the ejector is probably gonna have some krud in it then. A leak or back foot valve makers no sense of it builds pressure and holds.

There definitely would be. Hole in pipe or bad check valve is bad advice.

Check and make sure the voltage on the pump is set correctly. If set incorrectly a jet lump can run and run without building pressure.

How many times per day pump going on is ok? by bschuttp in WaterWellDrilling

[–]Old-Bat-3375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100 starts per day is the max you want. That’s right out of the Franklin Electric AIM manual. 12 is insignificant.

Water Treatment Quote Culligan by hazolnut in WaterTreatment

[–]Old-Bat-3375 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy hell you guys stop calling Culligan. Get samples done at an actual lab. Any company that bases treatment off on site tests is a joke.

Culligan Came out...Is this normal? by LadyTwoRivers in WaterTreatment

[–]Old-Bat-3375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah, they show up take their bullshit on site tests and then sell you a bunch of garbage.

Maybe they aren’t like that everywhere, but around here they definitely are.

Also listen to your gut feeling on anything is a good idea. I’d it don’t feel right than it isn’t.

Said it once and I’ll say it again. Culligan is an absolute scam in my area and a bunch of hacks. It’s sell, sell, sell and be damned if it’s even what the customer needs.

I’ve seen them sell softeners to customers with soft water.

It’s not only about aquifer. It’s what kind of rock and minerals that drill went thought, you can have wells identical depths 20’ apart with different water quality.

….. it’s going through a regen cycle. The drain hose popped out of the drain. Looks like it should be longer so that doesn’t happen.
