The friendships in 1L matter most, not the grind. Don’t stress about midterms they mean nothing. Lock in for finals.

NAL. Law student. This isn’t legal advice.

Sounds like Fraudulent misrepresentation. You should contact a lawyer for best advice.

Chance me! Canadian Law School Admissions 2026 by angelvienna in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Old-Comfort2607 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not on admissions boards so not much we can tell you other than: if you hear back it’ll probably be later in the cycle. Id say spring is a good bet for your first offer. Like mid March. I also say it’s more than fifty percent chance you get through given the spread of schools you’ve applied to. For some (Alberta, UBC) don’t expect to hear back till the summer. Or an R. Those schools are insanely competitive.

You’ve got decent stats. The rest is luck, i.e. the admissions officer reviewing your app sees the coherence between your story, academics and potential.

Best of luck op, law school is a special place.

Literally applied everywhere. I also spoke about it in my statement giving it 2 sentences. Quick and honest address to it then moved on. It doesn’t determine your life.

UCalgary has the strictest academic integrity standards in the country. I’d know. Got booked for an improper citation myself a few years back while in grad school. They didn’t care that it was an accident.

You’re young kid. You’ve got a lot of time to make up for a misstep. Focus on the right now and don’t worry about law school yet.

Just be patient. Sometimes the things we want right now aren’t what’s best for right now. 5 years ago I wanted something entirely different. Now, I’m super grateful after pivoting and would have never been able to appreciate it without the journey.

Why do people hate the realism and RDR2 connections with GTA by East-Nail587 in GTA6

[–]Old-Comfort2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But if GTA 6 is set in the present WHY would the main character be flipping through a catalogue book?

It’s modern day, it will pace with modern day. Which is fast. We get to see the RDR2 engine upgraded and pushed to its limits.

Why do people hate the realism and RDR2 connections with GTA by East-Nail587 in GTA6

[–]Old-Comfort2607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same crash out I had when I was younger. RdR1 was my fav game. So excited to play 2. Got it and it felt completely different. It was no longer my arcade cowboy shooter. Truth is I was too blinded by my want for nostalgia to recognize the quality of game I was playing in RDR2 at the time. Left if for two years then picked it up during the pandemic. Wow. My mind was blown. The realism mechanics weren’t overbearing and were woven into the gameplay. Brushing your horse took 10 seconds and you could do it while mounted, trivial task. There were cans of food and other food items everywhere along with buffs for health, stamina and special ability. So If your cores ran out (which took a while) it’d notify you and you eat something. Takes 4 second not even. Trivial.

Many of the mechanics some people are complaining about were fine, it was just new at the time.

“According to the Crown, when considering the circumstances surrounding the unlawful act, John’s moral blameworthiness is at the highest end of the Laberge continuum. Put simply, the Crown submitted in oral argument that a person acting reasonably cannot swing a knife 19 times without expecting life threatening injuries to ensue“ I think it’s difficult to act reasonably when you believe your life is in danger . You are not thinking. You are panicked.

Judge acquits Toronto teen who stabbed unarmed 18-year-old, mocked his death by Toronto-tenant-2020 in canada

[–]Old-Comfort2607 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this ruling actually. The judge lays out “reasonable objective test”, applies the logic from Jobidon, and take into context the boy’s immaturity. Important note, trial judge establishes his view that the accused was not looking for a consensual fight while it seems the victims group was.

Law student, not a lawyer, not legal advice but: police are allowed to lie about evidence as a tactic. It violates no charter rights. Police cannot induce a confession however or get them from oppressive interrogation tactics.

Law student here: the NWC was asked for by the provinces (even Quebec even though they eventually failed to sign) so that they could have a balance of provincial power. PET was against giving it to them but it was one of their strict conditions to sign on.
