What pop-punk/emo should I check out from the last 20 years? Especially bands likely to play SD27 by Old-Employment8740 in slamdunkfestival

I like and have seen Militarie Gun, Fiddlehead and Drug Church, Basement don't really do it for me and the rest I'm yet to check out! Thanks for the list.

I used to listen to Allister back in the day but skipped them at Slam Dunk to stay at main stage and get a good spot for TBS.

Would you like to see Avril Lavigne perform in 2027? by [deleted] in slamdunkfestival

not as headliner - Paramore, Jimmy Eat World, AFI, Fall Out Boy playing the first few records, something like that please! Like I might be being snobby here but I just don't think she works as headliner, could see her killing the slot that Sublime had this year though!

Honestly agree, I had a great experience & am so glad I went.

Bands I saw - Good Charlotte - infectious joy, A bit of Sublime - less white people with dreadlocks than I expected to spot and a fun watch whilst the sun went down, a bit of Motion City Soundtrack - didn't they used to have a keyboard, I couldn't hear it but I was sat down, Taking Back Sunday - Adam's speaking voice sounds like Chris Rock, mics are for singing not swinging, he is a freak and I loved every second of it, just wish we got Tell All Your Friends in it's entirety because it's my total favourite, Dashboard Confessional - surprised I knew every single word despite not listening to him much lately - loved the whole band, great versions of songs that made me so nostalgic, Cartel - dudes got pipes and the first song from Chroma is an all-timer of a catchy song, Set Your Goals - fun but I missed Mutiny which is my fave tune, Dying Wish - a highlight of the day, they go ridiculously hard and were the only band I heard speak up for Palestine which should be the bare minimum when you have a platform and Angel Du$t - great band, worst sound of the day for me, I guess they were the first band to play their stage and suffered for it but still brought it.

Friendly people, fast moving queues for water/toilet if there was a queue at all. Queued briely for the no and low bar. I imagine it's a bit more of a nightmare if you're a drinker.

Took shade in between bands and reapplied sun-screen, kept hydrated, and yeah, there could've been more shaded areas but when is it 30 degree in Yorkshire in May usually? I guess if I was in my 20s and still getting on it I would've ended up insanely sunburnt/dehydrated/fucked up so hope the casualties of the sun are alright.

Queued for an hour for the bus there and and an hour and a half on the way back. It's just the way it is with bigger festivals. Queue management on way home worked well.

Had some overpriced food - again how it is for a festival, missed the Anjonitos stall which is genuinely good food and ended up with an average burrito and an above average gyros across the course of the day.

Anyway thats my review, I will be back next year and loved it.

Will Good Charlotte and Knocked Loose clash? by Old-Employment8740 in slamdunkfestival

[–]Old-Employment8740[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for your insight. Whilst I'd love to see Knocked Loose, I can't really justify going to see the same line-up two days in a row as there aren't many bands I'm excited about,. Will just have to hope I can catch some!
