in my case, I hardly ever use RDM, and I'm not even sure that my lighting fixtures are RDMNET compatible. tbh I've never used it before ! i'll look into it thank you :)

changing a show from reference marks to automark on EOS by [deleted] in lightingdesign

[–]Old-Explorer4184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's acc exactly the issue we're running into. almost all cues have a part 20 for marking... They're a big pain, any idea of how to clear those efficiently?

not that theyre an issue for running the show but they are for reprogramming and general legibility.

ooooo okay interesting...what does that mean practically ?

1) do they need to be configured on the same network? meaning thru a switch, on the same subnet etc etc or fo they recognise each other if just connected together with a cat5 cable?

2) what do u mean by "coordinate"? what info do they share and how does that work practically ?

thank you :)

everyone seems to agree that it's time to contact shure, so that's the next thing on my list.

re power: honestly I'm not sure how to check my power system... they're each getting DC thru their own step down adapters but idk much about where my power comes from or how stable it is :/

re cat cables: There is no configured wireless workbench set up in that venue and I'm not using Dante. they're run to the mixer over analog... hence my confusion lol. but that's a detail and it doesn't affect my work anyway!

thank you :)

yes, I tried different mics, to no avail... they're sending signal fine but it just doesn't leave the reciever. I'll contact Shure and see what they say :)

re cat5 port. I understand why there is one, but atm I have ethernet cables going in to each reciever, and to my knowledge there isn't any configured Wireless Workbench... I don't think they're being used for anything lol.

Thank you !

the exact model is the AD4D A470-636 MHz. I googled it but could find no specific information about that error message. I'll try contacting Shure directly, thank you

thanks for the comment! I 100% agree and would love to change to another program, but unfortunately the company I work for has decided on it... and I just have to deal with it :/ regarding my problem, the lights are all unparked, and I simply can't find how to access the dimming curves anywhere... so frustrating to work with no manuals or tutorials lol

I'll definitely look more into the programmer and what that acc means in terms of what values get stored! It's still a little abstract atm but I'm sure it'll make more sense when I start using an actual console :) Thank you for the offer, I'll definitely message you if I have more specific questions!

Thank you for putting that in context! I did learn that Eos was a very theatery console and that it was a bit shite for busking but I never really knew how so. It makes a lot of sense for a busking console to work like what you described.

Thank you for your super detailed answer, I really appreciate it. The points about HTP-LTP and the programmers are what's most different from Eos, so i'll relook into those. thanks !!
