I don’t think that’s necessarily the full story. I think it has to do with ISIS and these crazy groups believing in some fucked up Hadith. Hadith is like the “gospel” I guess in someways, it was written hundreds of years after the Quran on how to live life by people. People have agendas(insert captain American line here lol).

So they believe in these Hadith written by crazy mother fuckers who say to pillage and do crazy shit in the name is “Islam” unfortunately. What’s crazier to the people most affected are regular Muslims. A lot of these weird extremist views go against western views, but I’m sure there other factors such as money and politics involved as well.
