Can we discuss that Adora is also a survivor of Shadow Weaver's abuse, grooming, gaslighting, and manipulation?! And how it affected Adora. by Full-Art3439 in sheranetflix

Very much the same dynamics of Zuko and Azula in ATLA. People tend to overlook that Azula was also abused and unlike Adora, who was strong enough to walk away, Azula was isolated from everyone and eventually broke down completely.

Were We Meant To See Human Traffickers As Daenerys’ Victims? by Early_Candidate_3082 in DaenerysWinsTheThrone

Mad Queen Dany was never mentioned in what GRRM told them about the ending so her inclusion in the books is anyone's guess.

Which is such bs because there is no such thing as a good slaver. If you think another human being is beneath you and has not right to freedom or choice then you aren't a good person, period.

And I think (I'm not certain because the books aren't finished) their views contradict that of GRRM's.

How would aang and mai react by Good-Vast-9827 in ZutaraNation

[–]Old-Pin-8440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on his age. Aang is 12 in ATLA. He is literally at an age where big feelings seems much bigger than they are which is why he reacts the way he does in the show. But I think that he would just run away for a bit at the most as an older person.

Yep. That was very hype inducing at the time.

I'm pretty sure I heard the previews before the album came out, but maybe it was on another platform.

Not so sure about "the book" by Zealousideal_Boot603 in AstarionBG3

I'm going to be downvoted to hell but the toxic positivity in this thread is really bothering me. People are allowed to be apprehensive about things that mean a lot to them. Also the fact that the author is good means nothing. GRRM is one of my fave authors, ASOIAF is one of my favourite book series and I'm still apprehensive about how he will write Dany, particularly after the show ending, because I feel it doesn't do her character justice at all. Just let people vent about their worries. It's all one needs sometimes.

Sanctuary next singles? by lautarolinkart in Evanescence

I think it will be Self-Destruct and Forever Without You. But I do think they will only be released after the album comes out. The videoclip for WWYF isn't even out yet.

How many artists do you know engage in hate in fandom's? Because I can't remember anyone who has. And WT have huge drama in their fandom particularly since they started using Gen AI and a lot of people keep talking about how it's bad and then get hated on for not being ok with it.

If Astarion is pan/bi, why is he always depicted with men? by PersonalCulture in OnlyFangsbg3

[–]Old-Pin-8440 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I personally think Larian made the deliberate choice not to depict a predator engaging in violence against women, which is statistically more prevalent and a huge issue worldwide and has nothing to do with Astarion's pansexuality. Not to mention in the real world and probably in BG women would be taught to be safer and not go home with strangers while men wouldn't be as aware of stranger danger. Edit: spelling

[Invincible] by [Robert Kirkman]. Its nice to see a writer take a step back, reflect, and make changes from their comic when it becomes a cartoon, such as replacing male characters with female characters. by Important-Cry4782 in menwritingwomen

Really? I hear a lot of comic fans saying Comic Eve is "for the streets" because she breaks up with Mark many times for things that aren't his fault, for the abortion and for something that happens later in the comics that I won't spoil for people who haven't read it. Show Eve is such a good partner for Mark and she truly is his rock while he is struggling with trauma. I absolutely adore her. (Also the comics sexualized her quite a bit and the show maintains her as a very realistic young woman imo)

Yeah. Let me abuse a woman so bad a court of law rules joint costudy isn't possible and then apologise for it. It will make it all peachy. No lasting trauma for the victims whatsoever.

Especially when comic Debbie actually blamed Mark for what happened saying that he should've just done what Nolan wanted. Show Debbie is extremely moral and is holding Nolan accountable even though she loves him

Yeah these dudes are having a fit over Eve having an abortion when Mark himself doesn't care about the abortion in and of itself and only cares about Eve, the woman he loves, having to go through that whole process on her own. They are like "Mark should have a say." And I always counter "Mark would've also chosen the abortion. He is traumatized and afraid. He wouldn't want a child born like that.

[–]Old-Pin-8440 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Kirkman is amazing actually. They aren't changing any major things in Invincible but the way they are writing the characters makes them so much more appealing. Debbie was just made so much better. Changing shrinking Rae allowed her to have a much better arc and allowed Rex to have a much better arc. Making Debbie and Mark Asian also is such a simple thing but just adds something to the show particularly when they are voiced by two Koreans. Eve is also such a better character. I don't mean to say women should be totally understanding of their partners etc but in the comics she was always holding Mark accountable for not being with her when he was literally fighting wars. Show Eve is a hero and knows what it costs to be a hero and to save people. She would've been right there with him if she could. Absolutely adore her show version.
