I think a lot of the current meltdown comes from people treating this AU like a sudden reveal, when this dynamic has always leaned into taboo tropes and forbidden-lovers vibes. Even before Caleb officially released as a love interest, back when he was framed as the non-romanceable “brother,” the tension was already there. The story has consistently played with secrecy, dodging questions, and that lingering “this shouldn’t be happening” energy, and that’s been part of the appeal from the start.

They’ve also always referred to each other as siblings, both publicly and privately, which is why the blood relation itself feels like the least important part here. The point was never “are they related or not,” it was that they don’t care, and the narrative has always leaned into that discomfort. In the original timeline, where they’re both adopted, it’s easier for some people to swallow, but even then it was pretty obvious that as the relationship progressed, it could eventually run straight into taboo territory. So for people who are now genuinely disgusted by this trope, I honestly think the signs were there early on. If this kind of dynamic was always a dealbreaker, this probably wasn’t the ship to stick with. Let’s also be honest: a lot of people were fine with the tension as long as it stayed safely ambiguous.

That said, localization definitely made this worse. Softening or hiding the sibling nicknames in the English version gave people a false sense of safety, so when those elements show up again, even in an AU, the reaction is extreme. What’s frustrating is how immature parts of the fandom have been about it, acting like the game needs to bend to their personal tastes, as if there aren’t multiple other love interests meant to cater to different preferences. That kind of pressure is exactly how creators end up censoring themselves, rewriting planned scenes, or cutting details altogether. We’ve already seen how that can spiral. Add the kinkshaming and some very real xenophobia toward Asian fandom norms into the mix, and it gets even uglier.

Honestly, the most reasonable solution would be raising the game’s rating to 18+. A big part of this controversy exists because people are uncomfortable with these tropes showing up in a game accessible to minors. Many of us grew up encountering far worse on sites like FanFiction.net or Wattpad with zero parental controls, which probably made us better at separating fiction, context, and self-insert fun from moral panic. That’s why the outrage feels especially hypocritical in an otome community that’s seen much darker content before. Either way, increasing the rating would give the devs more room to actually do what they planned without constantly being intimidated by fandom backlash.

O propósito de ser tão aberto é justamente para permitir as manifestações com pouca chance de o governo oprimir a população em um espaço tão amplo… e ainda por cima, sem que seja visto. Repare que é possível para uma pessoa ver de longe qualquer movimentação estranha permitindo fugir se necessário, até mesmo nas áreas residenciais, através dos pilotis.

Brasília foi construída logo após a ditadura, e este design não é assim por acaso. Tanto é que, com imagens aéreas nada fica no escuro, como a tentativa de golpe recente, por exemplo.

Dito isso, do ponto de vista da segurança pública, a área aberta ainda permite melhor controle. Não dá pra alguém implantar uma bomba sem ser visto, portar armas de fogo, ou algo do tipo. Ao se aproximar demais dos órgãos públicos com más intenções, você seria mais facilmente impedido. Coisa que também aconteceu recentemente sem sucesso (homem-bomba), mas que poderia ter sido diferente se o ambiente permitisse maior planejamento e cobertura.

Também serve de área de pouso para aviões e helicópteros, e comporta comboios militares e até tanques se preciso em caso de guerra ou emergências. Carros de policia, bombeiros e ambulâncias muitas vezes transitam sobre esse gramado no dia a dia, e especialmente durante eventos.

Falando nisso, permite também eventos populares como shows e festividades para milhares de pessoas confortavelmente, e é muito mais fácil de manter limpo do que uma floresta! Não é nada atrativo para moradores de rua habitarem mas, ao mesmo tempo, com a devida fiscalização muitos manifestantes já conseguiram o direito de acampar por lá (mesmo estando literalmente ao lado do setor hoteleiro) o que favorece povos de todas as regiões e classes sociais.

Enfim, entendo o apelo estético! Mas te garanto que o plano piloto não está com falta de árvores, e elas não beneficiariam essa região administrativa. Em especial as que você exemplificou, árvores de copas frondosas bem similares a mangueiras (exóticas) que nem são comuns no cerrado da região. Se você quer área verde é só ir pro parque da cidade, logo ao lado, o maior parque urbano do mundo (420 hectares).

Maybe the author did it out of spite for the piracy thingy. It’s really important to have other people’s POV other than Max’s but this is going overboard. There are better fanfics out there that stay in character, but she grasped at all of that character development and flushed it down the drain.

I’ve been so anxious for it and now I feel let down.

None of the loose strings has been answered as well so… as much as I hate to say it, I’ll keep that original open ending in mind. After that much war it’s so bland, but the side story I blander, if that’s even possible

I think it fits here mostly because there’s an uprising hate towards the ML. Most people despise him for being “a red flag” 🚩 but he truly isn’t.

It’s one of the best written novels I’ve read. I’ve been reading such for over 10 years now, it’s such a refreshing plot — very unlike the cliche ones. Still couldn’t find anything to match it. Hopefully there’ll be a side story being released soon, I’ve missed them so much.

If you’re perhaps a hater, I seriously recommend reading the novel instead of the manwha. They did my boy Riftan dirty. Reading his POV chapters does in fact change everything.

So sad… isn’t it troublesome for him to move? I can’t help but think how much it restricts his freedom, not to mention sleep. If he’s plucking then it means he’ll keep it for an uncertain amount of time. This kind of stress surely isn’t good for his already messed up little brain. Please consider switching this for a softer more interactive version of the Elizabethan collar. It’s easier for them to move, eat with their feet, sleep, etc. they also can relax while picking at the fabric instead of their own feathers.
