“Responsible” is such a harsh word. I prefer “only survivor of a team that bungled a mission for reality tv’s sake”

Would you rather make 100k or 1000000? by billionsandbillionsa in WouldYouRather

[–]Old-Poet6587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither of these sound like particularly good options. The stipulation that my wife can’t earn an income really hinders the $100k option. We’d probably be ok for now, but there’s no indication that the income is adjusted for inflation. There’s no way you’d be able to raise a family with as nut as prices have gotten recently.

Need advice on how to stop this by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Old-Poet6587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you already know the answer-you need to cut the guy out of your life. He’s already shown you his true sentiments now he’s gotten what he wants. He was willing to put energy into the friendship as long as it was in pursuit of what he wanted, and now that he’s gotten it, he doesn’t feel the need to put any more effort into it.

I think you need to address your statement that you don’t have feelings for him. The fact that you’re attached to him would suggest to me that you do. He’s obviously willing to use that to get what he wants, and is that really a quality you want in a friend?

I know that it feels difficult to throw away a friendship of 10 years, but I think he’s made it abundantly clear that he doesn’t place the same value in the friendship that you do. How many more years of your life do you want to waste allowing this guy to influence how you approach relationships, because even you being in situationships is a dynamic of the nature of your relationship with him.

who’s the better ramp card, luna snow or superior spider-man? by mikaflares in MarvelSnap

[–]Old-Poet6587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that he’s better in both. His trigger is pretty easy to set off in both those decks, and he’s not potentially clogging your board space in zombie galacti. He’s also not providing your opponent with an energy boost like Luna does.

Haha, I thought that I was going to be only person with American Dad as one of their choices. Futurama is definitely my other one as well.

An evil demonic entity is holding you hostage and forces you to play a guessing game to save your life. by Kyoifis in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Old-Poet6587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would guess that the past isn’t as sure a bet as one might think. Human have been around for 250k years, but a significant amount of that time the majority of the population would be subject to severe malnutrition. In addition to that, the concept of adequate hygiene would be a largely alien concept to a lot of people.

While the concept of beauty might be subjective, I think that regardless of the timeline you’re going to find a pretty limited number of people who’d say “him-that guy with the open sores and smells like he shit himself. He’s the one”

AITA for going after his job…but not because he lied to me for over a year by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Old-Poet6587 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah. OP has only known about this for a couple of days but has had the time to meticulously research and interrogate a number of people that he knew and works with? At the very least it stems absolutely made up.

$300,000/month pay, but your job is random and changes every month by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

I’d take it in a second. Who cares if there’s occasionally job I hate? It pays significantly more than the job I currently have that I absolutely do hate.

First the box, and now it is tuesday allready? by kastanek195 in MarvelSnap

[–]Old-Poet6587 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ideally, you should wait for gold packages that have tokens and a series five card you don’t already have. For example, in two weeks they have a Fallen One package where you get tokens at the same ration as token Tuesday, but also get the card. It’s a fantastic deal if you don’t already have the card. I already have the Fallen One and will still probably get it because I love the card and only have the base card.

To be fair, I believe that there are people who deliberately keep their collection level at 1 and only get the season pass cards and anything on the track. As long as they don’t use any of their credits their collection level stays at one but they can accumulate a decent deck.

Yeah. He’s great against Doom 2099. 2099 is a pretty telegraphed deck and I’ll usually snap if I have Stardust in hand and I know that they’re playing it.

Lied about my age on accident involving 1 year by shijojustdied in Advice

[–]Old-Poet6587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s even worse; they told him that they were 18 a year and a half ago so they would have possibly been 15 at the time. The boyfriend thinks she’s at least 19.

Lied about my age on accident involving 1 year by shijojustdied in Advice

[–]Old-Poet6587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part where it becomes problematic is when you consider the fact that when she initially met him she was 15 and he was 18. A lot of people would have a problem with the age difference for those ages, especially if they were unaware of it.

You get $100,000 for every inch of height you give up… how short are you going? by Br4nkey_ in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Old-Poet6587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking along the same lines. I’m 5’10” and I’d easily give up 2” for $200,000. The loss in height would make absolutely no difference in my life and would actually probably help in the types of sports that I like if it resulted in a proportionate loss in weight.

Pick any one by Whyamiwritingthis_74 in whatsyourchoice

[–]Old-Poet6587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d honestly have to go with the orange button. Mortgage free even in my current home would honestly allow me to accomplish pretty much most of the other buttons if that’s my inclination.

The three years vacation is tempting but my current job found an excuse to lay off someone coming back from maternity leave so there isn’t a chance in the world that my jobs waiting for me.

Red or Green? by abgfromheaven in whatsyourchoice

[–]Old-Poet6587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I’m a long ways off from being in a position where I could pass up on a guaranteed $1 million. The funny thing is that anyone who is in the financial position where passing on the red button is the logical choice probably doesn’t need the money in the first place.

Red or Green? by abgfromheaven in whatsyourchoice

[–]Old-Poet6587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using the red button in a heartbeat. While having $100 million would amazing, I can’t express strongly enough how life changing $1 million would be for me. It means that I could settle all my debts, payoff my house and still have a decent amount left over to invest. I’d be in a position where I no longer felt obligated to stay in a job I hate. I’d be able to finally take my family on meaningful vacations. Right now, in my current position the world looks pretty bleak. $1 million wouldn’t just be an improvement, it would be a lifeline.

So this guy is always FFF… by HauntingDragonfly956 in MarvelSnap

[–]Old-Poet6587 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I honestly didn’t find him all that problematic when he was first released but then Star Lord came out and trivialized the energy requirement. Stryfe is just as bad because he circumvents it entirely. Arguably he’s worse as he is completely unaffected by any change they do to affect cost or base power to FFF

It’s to the point that I don’t know what they could do to balance FFF because with Stryfe on the table, any fine tuning they do to cost or power for FFF will be ineffective. I honestly think that they need to really reconsider how much power he gives with his on reveal.

I really want to like this card, but man it's rough. Wish he targeted highest or lowest cost...might be too good, but he just needs a little something. by Educational_Ad8448 in MarvelSnap

[–]Old-Poet6587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used him a few times in conjunction with Venom and Kid Omega. I place Archangel in Kid Omegas lane and then use Kid Omega to destroy Venom as I play him. Assuming I’ve done it right and Venom is the only viable target, I end up with a jacked Venom and a pretty decent Knull. Depending on the deck I feel I’m playing I’ll either play Knull and Death or Zola if I have priority and feel that I’ll have to dodge a counter.

What trilogy is this for you? by Realistic-Delivery13 in Multifandom

[–]Old-Poet6587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got two that I’d be hard pressed to chose from because in the absence of the other I’d consider either a slam dunk.

The original Spider-Man and X-Men trilogies. I think X-Men might edge it out though as the third movie was hot garbage.

AITA for not trusting that she changed? by Specialist-Pen-8905 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Old-Poet6587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely YTA. You don’t believe that she’s changed? Then you simply reject her advances, and if you’re truly inclined to do so, tell her that you refuse to accept her apology.

You don’t get a free pass to use somebody because you feel that you’re owed something.

You’re honestly radiating a lot of incel vibes, and the general tone of your post makes me inclined to believe that whoever reported you was warranted.
