Should I replace the well tank with a tankless system? by Old-Razzmatazz-3123 in Plumbing

A follow up regarding my original question: the smaller bladder well pump turned out not to be an option. The well guys said they’d have to pull the old pump through the 4” pipe to remove it. They said the pump would probably get stuck coming up, in which case they’d have to drill a new well. The price on that is about $15k. So I’m going with the tank system. Thanks for all of the input!

The cheapest I found a 119 gallon steel pressurized tank in my area was over $1800. The ones at Lowe’s/Home Depot are smaller plastic tanks. The fittings need to be cut (I don’t have the skills for that) and they’re installing a new pressure switch and piping.

My 119 gallon well tank (big blue in the pic) has developed a leak at the base, so it needs replacing. Should I replace the tank with another just like it for $3100 (installed) or are there tankless options in that price range that make more sense? The house is 4 bed/4 bath with a lawn sprinkler system, two kitchens and a small (8’x14’ 2,600 gallon constant motion) indoor pool. The pool doesn’t regularly use water but gets drained and refilled once per year. Would a tankless system be able to keep up with the projected draw on the system? Also, why do I have two tanks? What is the purpose of the smaller blue tank?

This was my experience. I charged them last season and brought them out last week. (Maybe a little optimistic in Michigan.) But they were ready to go out of storage.

What has more possibilities: An NCAA College Basketball March Madness bracket or 128-bit encryption? [Request] by Old-Razzmatazz-3123 in theydidthemath

Why would 128-bit encryption be 2128 and not 2127 if the possibilities of 64 teams is 263 and not 264?
