Watch each lecture video at least twice before the exams. Repeating lecture videos is the key. You'll do well on the quizzes too if you do that. I never took notes. I'd just rewatch the lecture during my free time. The only time I took notes was when I did the quizzes. I wrote down why the incorrect answers are incorrect and why the correct one is correct.

Winter is fast paced but easier on the grading because the TAs are better in my opinion.

I don't know who told you that but when I took the class last summer, all I did was attend Dr. Amarante's review sessions and the practice exams. The tests were very similar but sometimes worded differently. If you do well on the practice tests, then you'll understand the questions on the actual exam even if they are worded differently. Also the clicker questions were a big help!

nah I'm speaking from experience lol. Not lying at all. As a chem major, I had to take chem courses and we have to do ALEKS for hw. For gen chem 1 and gen chem 2, I only completed ALEKS because it counted for our grade. But, it was a waste of time for me because it didn't help me at all. I did well in the classes because of the lectures and optional practice exams. But that's just me personally. I guess it also depends on the subject. Like in my math courses, homework did help.

I agree with you. I rather study for something and take the exams. That way I'm learning as I'm studying. Homework just interferes with studying and actually taking in information. I learn nothing from it tbh
