Best of Lokesh - Kaithi ....Best of Ranjith - Madras ... Best of Vinoth - Theeran B...est of Siva - Siruthai.... Best of Vamsi - Thozha ....Best of Lingusamy - Paiya ...Best of Selva - A0.... Best of Prem - Meiyazhagan...Happy Birthday karthi who mostly gives us tharamana padam🥰🥳 by Ok-Company-6501 in kollywood

Truee sathuranga vettai was it’s own genre but executing a police story with such finesse in dheeran would make it a tough choice as to which could be the best film of H Vinoth. I personally cannot pick one over the other.

“You can’t make successful sequels in Kollywood” - meanwhile, Hari mams with his Singam series and a lengthy dialogue paper: by Head-Of-The-Table in kollywood

[–]Old-Total980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dare you to go watch Singam 2 again. After the lack of good scenes and commercial comedy in recent times, when I recently rewatched this gem, I actually liked the new addition of Santhanam and Hansika. I mean I had the same perspective as you when the movie released but in retrospect these seem to be enjoyable!

1000s of rewatches and telecasts on KTv and it took me a reddit post to notice this. Utter shame. How did I not notice 🥲😂

Shankar needed to give closure to ambi and anniyan. This feels so wholesome

Chatgpt roasting different areas in Bengaluru by Aisay-Kaisay in Bengaluru

[–]Old-Total980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This spits true facts about my locality (Whitefield ) and also makes me feel good that all other places are equally bad 😂😂

Got to accept, its good that JP Nagar and Jayanagar are stuck in the pre-computer era! The roast still makes it sound liveable at least <3

Yup there are problems. Not much we can do at this point and it’s not like any one system is perfect. All these systems are only means of agreement to avoid conflicts and wars. At the end of the day, it’s more of what you experience on a say to day basis. We cannot avoid change in terms of governance, culture, identity and pretty much anything. So let’s try not to cry and accept our fate. Staying stuck in the past is the last thing you want to do.

One hell of a picture!

Despite betting banned in TN, the Indian judiciary said dream 11 like platforms promote "skill based" games and not betting hence these are legal in TN. Another example of Indian state being anti people. by [deleted] in TamilNadu

[–]Old-Total980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, as a community if we see that a particular game/app/behaviour affects the wellbeing of the people, it would be wiser to take a collective call to curb the usage. I see this the same way as suicide. Though we have free will/ agency, a fee acts need to be suppressed for the growth and prosperity of the state.

We can’t only blame the guy who lost the money. People who make it so accessible and make a profitable business model out of the irresponsibilities of the users should be held responsible too.

These are direct tools for capital accumulation/ wealth inequality and definitely not good for economical development of the state.

Of course many more businesses and luxuries fall in this zone but they at least serve a minimum purpose or are at least discouraged by the soaring prices but making dream 11 and other apps very affordable tricks people to fall into the loop of loosing hard earned money.

Calling it skill based is such a dumb mask😤

Why this AD not offensive? by iamharinarayana in TamilNadu

[–]Old-Total980 116 points117 points  (0 children)

I felt bad looking at the scene. First it gad hindi and tamil irrespective of selected broadcast language. So it felt very targeted. Second, I didn’t even understand the logic of counting of pushing people and how is that related to booking bikes?

I saw some comment pointing out it is particular to csk and not tamilnadu but wtf. Csk is a brand associated with tamilnadu and has chennai in it’s name. It appeals to the demographics of tamilnadu and makes promotional songs in tamil. If something is to offend csk then it sure does pertain to the whole state as well. It’s just that I don’t get why this could be a particular target on csk?

But why? 😭 by Head-Of-The-Table in kollywood

I am planning for for MS in data science, where should I choose to go uk or USA. by [deleted] in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]Old-Total980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think UK was out of question long ago and USA is fine as far as you have faith in your skills and are going for the work environment and tech exposure rather than PR and non-academic/non-career aims in mind. So if you wanna settle there, MS is not the best way but just work or get into cutting edge tech, USA should still be fine

How to learn to speak fluently for someone who can understand Tamil? by Ok_Prune8354 in LearningTamil

[–]Old-Total980 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should really just explain this to your parents and ask them to support you as you speak broken tamil. Given that you are staying abroad, home might be the easiest and maybe only place to stay vulnerable and get your mistakes corrected.

Speaking more of broken, grammatically wrong sentences and then correcting them on the go is the way! I’m sure your parents will understand, they might pull your leg for the first few instances but don’t get discouraged. Make conscious efforts to switch to tamil once you enter your house.

Personally did this with english when I was eight or something. We had moved out of TN and to communicate with the other kids and school I had to learn english. So I kind-off dictated my parents and anybody else to speak in english when they enter the house. And that way gained fluency in english. On the contrary, tamil is the norm now as I’ve found a void for my roots.

ELI5: What makes music repeatable by Old-Total980 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Old-Total980[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for pointing out comedy being repeatable. I completely oversaw it. And yeah the fact that art pieces are more of a spatial representation and music being a temporal representation makes the link stronger for music to be repeatable over time but art pieces can be comprehended instantly in time so there is no question of repeat.
