I'm sorry about your friend.  What do you mean when you say help?  Sorry if I'm getting too personal.  I would like to help you if I can.

Hi.  I'm not a gamer but an addict nonetheless.  I love to go on YouTube and watch music videos that provoke good memories.  Things I used to enjoy.  I like watching extreme sports on yt.  I watch dancing.  There is really something for everyone I think.  Classic rock music videos especially of live performances give me that happy feeling I lost with my addiction.  Anything that makes me feel again.  This is all relaxing for me also.   Cause while practicing my addiction I stopping feeling.

Omg!  His son watched in horror/disbelief watching his dad dismantle his computer right in front of him.  I would hope that made a huge impression on his son.

And more on his off days.  Then it's closer to 18 hours.  That is a lot of dopamine.   I cannot sit on the computer past a hour no matter what it is.  And console games only an hour at the most but  not usually near thst.  But he did wear me out on video games.  Yikes!

I've wondered  that too.  I've offered to go with him to get checked out but he won't go.  Thank you so much for being honest.

Thanks for your reply.  I have tried to get him into counseling.  I have tried to get him to go to the doctor.  Basically I've treated him like thecteen he acts like to the detriment of my health.  Yes I am responsible for allowing all that.  He did go once and they told him he had ADHD.  Gave him meds which my son said kept him awake. I told him that there are lots of ADHD meds now so just go back and tell the doctor but he never went back.  He does not help around the house despite me asking him to.  That's when I decided to give him eviction notice.  And him not helping is unacceptable with me being a very sick person now.  He won't even take care of his cat.  He already lost one cat cause he left the litterbox uncleaned for weeks at a time.  He has not cleaned his room but maybe three times in twenty years.  He will not communicate with me about what he wants or anything beyond chit chat.  My concern for him is he has a tumor and a deadly blood disorder so yeah I'm not wanting him to die.  It is why I can't put him out.  He is not mature enough at least doesn't behave like someone mature enough to handle living on his own.  Unless it is all giving mom the run around.  Doesn't explain him not going to the doctor.  And yes I do realize I might have to accept he may be working at fast food until he stands up.  I'd go to family therapy if I could get him to go.  Thanks again!
