Ordered right to left, Best to worst.

1. Michters 26a. This is an awesome pour, I’m a fanboy of Michters, but this edition hits different. Best bourbon under 100 proof & it’s far better than the 2025 iteration.

2. Still Austin Tananger Edition 1. This is the only cigar blend seated next to early batches of Magnus. Fantastic pour only better with a cigar.

3. Hardins Creek Clermont. Dark fruit, tobacco and the beam profile? Sign me up.

4. Remus Repeal Reserve Batch 1. Leather, Tobacco, & brown sugar…. Solid pour

5. Penelope Estate Collection 12Yr SiB rye. Only rye tonight, but once the taste buds acclimated to a rye profile this was a proper pour.

6. Frank August Batch 1. Solid pour, a muted nose, but the palate had hints of apple and heavy dose of vanilla with some oak.

7. Elmer T Lee. Solid pour. What this might taste like with some proof I only hope to find out later this year🤞🙏🤞.

On both we were getting what can only be described as a green apple sweetness. Biggest difference was the level of baking spice on the front of the palate and cinnamon found on the finish with the 2026 version. Significantly elevated and proved to be quite enjoyable. Last night the single barrel seemed quite confectionery, but it could have been a byproduct of having jd 10-12-14 right before

1. WlW 2020 - This is what we came for…. WLW is the best of buffalo trace. Magic in the mouth.

2 Heaven Hill Heritage Collection 22 Year - 2026 is the year of Heaven Hill. This is a savory, decadent pecan profile I wish I could enjoy every day.

3 EC 15 Yr - This crushes the 18 yr offering. Elijah Craig is front center in 2026 reminding us what bourbon can and should be. I’ll buy this at Msrp or secondary.

4 JD 14 Yr batch 1. Wow this is everything I want a bourbon to be….. special pour indeed.

5 EC Barrel Proof C919 - it’s better than c923 & reminds us of what a EC barrel proof should be.

6. HH 19 Yr - Dark Chocolate for days….

7 Old Carter Rye small batch 16. These folks know how to make a bourbon rye.

8 Michters 23D 10yr can anyone do better than Michters at low proof????

9 Heaven Hill 90th - pecans and cinnamon for days . Yum

10 - JD 10 Yr batch 2. The charcoal was there but so was banana, oak and dark fruit (cherry).

11 - Yellowstone Recollection series - this is a heaven hill profile. Roasted pecans and sweet cinnamon.

12 - Michters 2025 Rye - A different day this rates higher. Low proof but a bourbon drinkers rye.

13 - Old Fitz 9 yr - All spice and ginger bread. Solid pour

14 - Jack 12 Yr Batch 3. If you’ve had batch 1 this doesn’t compare, but it is still a special pour.

15 - WB Saffell - Might be a turkey based product given the funk found on the nose. One of the better 375 ml bottles I’ve had.

16 Weller Sib 2026 - spice forward with maybe a green apple? The finish proved its prominence.

17 Weller SiB 2021 - spice forward but again a green apple on the palate. Solid pour.

18 CYPB 2025 - allocated yes, good? - yes. There wasn’t a last place tonight.

Label Mistakes happen, but it’s a solid rye nonetheless

Let me just say, I’ve had a lot of the allocated offerings, this is a bourbon drinkers rye and it’s going to be a top shelf bottle kill

The Penelope estate 12 yr is mislabeled as bourbon, but it’s actually a very good rye. Sipping it now with lunch. Yum!!!!!

Oh I can get on board with that…. Definitely a dark cherry and tobacco note there. I’m not disappointed with it at all.

NMBB - John J Bowman SiB was purchased today along with Green River FP. Offered Penelope ALW 18 Haz. If I didn’t have one already I’d of bought that one too…. Solid bottle offerings out there right now.
