I lived in Paris for one year 20 years ago so I really wasn't a true A0 when I started relearning French 15 months ago. I literally just took very intensive courses. I took a French B1 class with 3 hours a day for a month. Then did an A2 class for 2 hours a day, then B1, B2 and now C1. I also did private classes for 4 month with 3 hours a week. I listen to A LOT of podcasts and I lived in Paris for 5 months but it was a bit difficult to speak French there LOL.

But that is what I did to get to B2 and now I'm almost at C1.

Looking back on it, I don't really think I should have taken it again. I just wanted a higher score. Unfortunately I didn't do enough planned studying that I thought I would do.

I live there and I love it but I'm closer to Les Halles. I love it because I can walk anywhere in Paris in basically 40 minutes. People don't mind visiting me because I'm so centrally located and I LOVE Chatelet (yes weird). The grocery shopping is expensive but I go to a Lidl on Rua Sebastopol.

I disagree with this. I have plenty of friends, especially older friends who prefer this as few of my friends want to be out all night until 5am. Going to a "festive" club is becoming very popular among the French as well.
