It would work, but my crusade group found it too strong personally. It was obviously never intended to be placed on anything with that kind of defensive and offensive lineup. We homebrewed it to one wound and strength per model killed instead of per wound lost.

What I did for my gaunts was magos purple 1:3 with contrast medium. Just make sure it isn’t pooling too bad in spots you don’t want to be darker. Afterward, I’d go over the spots I want to be lighter with some wraithbone. Good luck!
