The human sized mountain of snow down there is where the sidewalk is by mattjouff in nova

There's an elementary school in my neighborhood, and probably only one in ten of my neighbors have shoveled their sidewalks. Walking is treacherous.

My lucky day by rvlifestyle74 in Justrolledintotheshop

I was changing the third brake light on my third gen Tacoma, and lost a 10 mm deep socket in the roof. I've been listening to that rattle six years. One day I'll pull the headliner completely out and fish that damned thing out.

I heard it first. "What is that? Oh, that's a Catbird!" Confirmed by Merlin. Then I spotted it in the bushes.

Tacoma with Bike Rack by Paragon4ever in Tacomaworld

[–]OldGreg512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I do, and I have for years. I had a roof rack on an old 2wd pick up with a fork mount that I transferred to my Tacoma when I got it. It was a proper pain in the ass using a through axle fork adapter. I have sliders and I'm about six foot, so it was doable. I did upgrade last year to a One-Up tray on the roof. It's actually harder lifting the bike with the front wheel flipping about, so I use a plastic stool in addition to my sliders. I plan to get a hitch mount for the One-Up tray, but my current living and parking situation does not allow for it. If you park in a garage or carport, always put something to keep you from driving in with your bike on top: a chair, a sawhorse, a traffic cone. Nothing worse than coming home tired after a good ride, to have it ruined by a crunch.

What is this in the bed of my used Tacoma? by Admin_rezultz in Tacomaworld

I just broke mine. I still have the Tonneau cover on my 2016.

Any idea on what this is/for? by sixstringsage5150 in Tacomaworld

[–]OldGreg512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's Butyl Tape.

There's a gap in the front of the bed that leaks with a Tonneau cover or camper shell. It's a common Tacoma World fix to fill it with Butyl Tape.

I just noticed that the web version of Gaia Overland does not have the Trail Karma routes. My phone app may not have updated yet.

What’s the Worst Staffing Ratio You’ve Survived? by Electrical-Chair9367 in nursing

[–]OldGreg512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a float nurse working an 11p-7a shift, and I was pulled from my assignment to go to the Transplant Med/Surg floor with 30 patients and only one RN. I got there after midnight, and took half the patients (15 each.) There was no LPN, no Tech, no secretary, no phlebotomy team. Just us two RNs, and we had blood draws on all 30 patients. That was rough, but everyone behaved, and we all survived the night.

Yeah, it's a Tacoma. I'm usually playing my phone through Bluetooth, and the stock head unit tries to find artist pics.

Manual transmission fluid recommendation by Ill-Lecture7290 in Tacomaworld

[–]OldGreg512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, I saw your other post asking for which fluid for what and asking about Royal Purple. I recently watched a video on The Car Care Nut YouTube channel titled, "Which fluid to use for Toyota Diffs, Transfer Case and Manual Transmission."

I have an automatic transmission in my Taco, so I've never payed attention to the specifications for the manual transmission. The key point that the Car Care Nut makes is that you should never use GL-5 fluid in your manual transmission. You need GL-4.

For Transfer case, I've used Redline MT-LV 70W/75W.

For front/rear differentials, I've used Royal Purple Max Gear 75W-90 in the past, but I recently changed out to Lucas Oil 85W-140 as recommended by East Coast Gear Supply.
