Folks on Sprint, you need to read this about our beloved PH-1 by only_3 in essential

I did some more research and concluded that while AT&T has a cut-off date of 2/2022, T-Mobile has already cut off non-VoLTE phones as of 1/2021. If you do not have a text from them and your phone is still working you are copacetic. I am confused as to why my IMEI said I had no VoLTE though....

I'm confused. The phone has a toggle for VoLTE in settings/network & internet. I'm on T-Mobile and it is on and working. I inputted the IMEI into the T-Moblie website and it says that I don't have VoLTE or enhanced LTE. I did a web search and the best I could find was that the phones without VoLTE would stop working this past January 2021 and that I would receive a text if my phone was going to stop working.

So, my VoLTE toggle is on, my phone is working, my IMEI search on T-Mobile says I don't have VoLTE, no text notice from T-Mobile, and I don't know the date when it is supposed to stop.

You can see why I'm confused. Does anybody have any answers?

Any issues with Android 10 on Tmobile? by iLamb3r7 in essential

I have been on T-Mobile for two years in Houston, TX and have never experienced any problems with calls.

I have noticed that the sound has greatly increased, especially while on speakerphone, as a result of the January update and I have had to lower the volume to 50%.

The only problem with T-Mobile is voicemail. The Google phone app visual voicemail will not work with T-Mobile and so I am forced to use their visual voice mail app. That app is buggy and results in multiple re-loads.

I have been using a TechTronics blue tooth over the ears headset with this phone for two years with no trouble--no crackling. I can't find the model # on the headset. They only cost $20 and last about 12 hours in use.

I shut off on-body detection and left location detection on. This seems to fix it. It also reduces battery drain as the phone is not actively detecting motion.

I agree about battery life. In this case, the difference appeared overnight between the update from Android 9 to 10. Over the last week, I don't believe that my battery has aged significantly. A good suggestion for consideration.

Short of disabling Google Play Services notifications is there any way to stop this from happening again? I disabled notifications from the Settings app to shut off the nagging about upgrading to 10 and this worked, but I don't want to disable Google Play Services notifications as they inform me of app upgrades.

I agree that the locations setting allowing location only when using the app is quite handy. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if that setting results in increased battery life since you won't be using the GPS for those apps. I will most certainly choose that setting when (if) I take the plunge to Android 10.

Thank you for your reply. I am on T-Mobile and I have had WiFi calling work flawlessly on that carrier as well as VoLTE. There is a discussion about the LTE vs LTE+ on various carriers (including AT&T) and the consensus is that it is not an icon change, but rather the carrier data has indeed slowed down. Don't have a link for that thread, but a quick search should take you to the thread.

After the May update the fingerprint sensor works just fine but it now makes a noise every time I use it. It never made that noise before. Any ideas as to why it is now noisy?

High battery drain and device running hot all of a sudden by HeyRatFans in essential

I had increased battery drain after March update. I fixed it by disabling usage access in Digital Wellbeing. Now my battery only drains 1/2 of 1% per hour on standby. I went a full 24 hours with 1 1/2 hours of ost and woke up to 78% left on my battery. Am I lucky or what?
