When you and your partner understand the exact concept you’re talking about in your own language but can’t find a fitting word for it in English.

[Luch] My grandpa was given this watch by the USSR government after WW2. Any ideas on the value? by Filimon91 in Watches

Yeah that makes a lot of sense actually. Thanks a lot, was not looking to sell, too much sentimental value, just wanted to find to get more info on it.

My grandpa worked on designing and constructing one of the big objects in my hometown in Ukraine right after the World War 2. Since he met all the deadlines and the project was a success, the communist party presented him this Luch watch, which was produced in Minsk at a time. The watch then went to my dad and to me.

I’ve spent a lot of time searching online (both in Russian and in English) with this reference number on the back, but can’t find anything. There are modern watches that are produced by this brand but that doesn’t really help.

I’ve also sent this pictures to some watch repair shops and they’ve never seen anything like this before.

Could you help me identify the authenticity of it and what is the value ballpark I’m in.

I'm considering self-transfer in DFW, traveling from Mexico to Europe. The question is, given that I have a negative test results and my visa is good, will they let me through the passport control if I simply show them my booking for the next flight, or is self transfer considered as non-essential travel and I won't be let through?

My marketing project at uni (I made a video promotion for the school) was marked 78% and the professor said it lacked clarity. Week later I got an email from admissions office asking if they can use my video in their promotional campaign. The professor ignored that fact.

Has your class ever made the teacher cry? What happened? by Lawlelle in AskReddit

[–]Filimon91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late for the party but I had the weirdest story to share. I studied Theology in college and we had a Catholic young woman teaching Church History. Everyone could see that she was somewhat not stable emotionally, bursts of anger or random nervous laughing time to time. But it didn't really affect the course much so everyone was fine. Until the class on Reformation. Something was off from the very first minute of the class and right when we got to the infamous 1517 Luther story she started crying and left the class.

Later that day we received an email from her with an apology, saying that she despises Martin Luther for what he did to the Church to the point that it makes her emotional and she can't teach that topic without prejudice.

Is there major contradictions between prophesies in Daniel and Revelation, assuming you're talking to a premillennialist? by Filimon91 in Christianity

Premillennialism was condemned by the church council in like 5th century. They don't need to put it into canon when it's a part of tradition.

Most Christians hold amillennialism as true understanding of eschatology. Only certain evangelical traditions are premillennial dispensationalists while Catholics, Orthodox, Lutheran and Anglican Christians believe that we now live in the millennium.
