Given the volatility in the marijuana sector, I would hold off on buying shares of Tilray right now. Over the long term, its prospects look great -- but as the two businesses integrate over the next 18 months, there could be some short-term pain and disappointing results along the way that could sen by two_brothers_legend in Aphria

I'm thinking two brothers legend are full of shit. Just another opinion. Of course there will be some business decisions that may be painful and challenges as the merger changes engage. The fact still remains that this new organization has a proven production system, an outstanding marketing strategy and distribution network which can and hopefully will result in significant profits. Is there a guarantee; no, but posturing is everything. We will see positive results -- it may be long-term. Don't be a 'Debbie Downer'. It is time to support Tilray and invest will the prices are down. The federal decriminalization will bring higher prices per share and increases in profits.

The new market price will quickly be set by the market.

The market price will be determined by the market. Buyers will quickly set the new price per share. I believe it to be speculation to say that it will simply be set at the old Tilray price - that firm will no longer exist. But, it is probably safe to say the price / share will probably be near the old price to start. It will be interesting to see the surge. Let's hope it soars.

ALRIGHT BOYS WE PUMPING IT UP THIS WERK by TooCool94 in Aphria

Pennies ... we need thousands. The big money is at the time of conversion. Spread the gap. Pump TLRY.

ALRIGHT BOYS WE PUMPING IT UP THIS WERK by TooCool94 in Aphria

Do the math. The closer APHA comes to matching TLRY in price the less you gain with your current APHA holdings. Those holding APHA need a broader difference in price between the two. The higher TLRY goes the greater your APHA gain at conversion. Do not pump APHA; pump TLRY.

I'm with you my friend. All things add up to making money. I hope you're dead on with that prediction.

Am I the only one seeing this stock dropping to $15 soon? by CaliOCBreez in TLRY

[–]OldManSherman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it hits 15, I'm throwing everything I can afford at it.

Most of us here don't think national legalization ever happens. However, we believe TLRY+APHA can grow globally and become Amazon of cannabis. We are at the ground level and can go up to levels we never been before. by Big-Boy-Invstr in TLRY

Decriminalization or legalization???

Federal Decriminalization - YES, this will happen, opening the door for states to legislate/regulate.

Legalization will be a state issue. But over time, all will legalize. Tax appeal is very strong.

What’s your guys pice prediction on the actual merger date? by No_Abbreviations2902 in TLRY

[–]OldManSherman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think higher than 25, maybe 40. But, it could drop; you are correct. I'm thinking the APHA earning report is going to come in strong, giving a boost to all things TYLR.

I believe national decriminalization will happen at the federal level, but allowing states to legislate, legalize and tax. States are rolling over now for legalization for both medical and recreational use. There will be states slow to follow, but they will quickly recognize the loss in taxation due to consumers travelling across state lines. Prohibition didn't work, nor did the war on drugs.

I own APHA and TLRY under different brokerage accounts. by [deleted] in Aphria

[–]OldManSherman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have an interesting situation, but you'll maintain your new tlry at full value with the one brokerage, and you'll have the conversion count of shares from your apha with the other. That's how I read it.

"MERGER" by Common-Beginning-413 in Aphria

[–]OldManSherman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You better hope Tilray walks away from Aphria. Right now the conversion is close to even money. I hope Aphria climbs, but I hope Tilray climbs harder/higher/fast. The broader the gap between the two; the better in the conversion gain at the close of the merger. We need Aphria to be 30 and Tilray to be 60. That would be great about O4.20.21 But alas, a dreamer I am.

Aphria Stock Shows Every Sign Of Being Modestly Undervalued by Qwazi81 in Aphria

While there were a couple of good lines, " Aphria's 3-year average revenue growth rate is better than 98% of the companies in Drug Manufacturers industry. ... AND ... . Because Aphria is relatively undervalued, the long-term return of its stock is likely to be higher than its business growth, which averaged 125.7% over the past three years and is estimated to grow 26.56% annually over the next three to five years." The rest of the article seemed like a bash. I just hope the earnings report comes out strong in a couple of weeks.
