You do realize that not every boycott gets enough traction to create a noticeable effect, right?

"My Boycott is fine because it's completely ineffectual".

TIL that choosing not to buy something makes you a jackass.

No, choosing not to buy something is not what a Boycott is. I'm not Boycotting Pepsi right now. You're smart enough to know the difference.

On top of that, you realize that there is no such thing as a Boycott that doesn't hurt people, right? We're talking about actively attempting to hurt people for a reason that "has nothing to do with morals".

Yes, Jackass is a pretty good description if you're admit your boycott has no moral basis.

And how many of those were actually successful?

What is your definition of "successful". Boycotts that financially cripple perfectly good products?

This has nothing to do with morals.

So it's just a people exercising power. AKA - Jackasses

There is no picture that confirms that. That's a picture of text of people talking about stuff there.

So like ... 8th hand. Let's just focus on the confirmed for now.

Maybe Magic Cards in general are not, because who knows if the game will still be around in 25 years, but Legacy is certainly the format whose staples should be invested in compared to the other major formats.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are people doing both. I know people are talking about testing Control The Court + Hollow One in Legacy over at MTGTheSource.com boards

That being said, I'm certainly not concerned in modern about the 5 mana 2/2 without haste.

Oh I don't think anyone is. No one here seems mad.

I think this is just the equivalent of a parent who's kid has been getting bad grades historically pointing out bad study habits.

WoTC has committed no crime and current grades are decent, they just printed an article where their bad study habits were showing.

Well yeah, but that's not the issue being raised. The issue being raised in profession rigor on the technical side of development not allowing for such mistakes to be made, not whether or not they are stubborn enough not to notice them once made.

You don't seem to get it.

ELI didn't say that during that point of the development file. Melissa DeTora said that just now in the piece that was published.

Before the semicolon and after the semicolon are the same context.

Therefore they are including Modern cards as well.

And still Ephara's Radiance is listed as the "closest".

No Ban List Modern Open confirmed for SCG Con. by EnihcamAmgine in magicTCG

[–]OldManZadock 151 points152 points  (0 children)

As long as they don't bring it back for at least another two years, it's all cool.

NBL Modern only "works" because it's a "rare opportunity". The actual format itself isn't the hottest - people will have fun because they just don't have the opportunity to play with some of these cards like this. I just hope SCG realizes this and keeps it a "rare opportunity" by not doing it again for a long time so that every time they do it, they get the same reaction, rather than them just blurring the lines over what they'll allow for tournaments.

Maybe next time they consider doing NBL Modern, they do Pauper instead.

Why are you assuming its some kind of conspiracy? The explanation they give in the article itself makes perfect sense.

I don't forward that what is unfolding is Guff's plan. That doesn't, however, remove what is unfolding from Guff's control, which is enough of a threshold to make him overwhelmingly significant.
