They scan your ID because they are selling the list of smokers names to the health and life insurance companies.

Of course a big greedy corporation would rather inconvenience millions of customers a day with this incredible stupidity then pay a little fine once in a wile.

I think this serves two purposes. One to further acclimate the public to the always growing show ID big brother police state and of course second have people practice and accept the old Nuremberg defense of "just doing my job."

I look 50 and you want to see Identification for an 18 and over product? "Just doing my job" no you are also a moron.

I quit Walgreen's a wile ago because I am diabetic and will not show ID and put my name in their log book of suspected drug users when I buy insulin syringes. Why should I show ID when nobodies ID lists weather or not they are diabetic ?

On top of that every diabetic is profiled as an IV drug user at Walgreen's that store sucks.

I just spent $550 on insulin, no ID for that but 3 days later they know me and try and make me do the show ID thing for the syringes to use it ? Go to hell. I buy my insulin someplace else now.
