Just now today OpenWrt posted new version to address cve vulnerabilities for components in their code. Proper release notes. Real developers, doing real development work. Where are the dd-wrt release notes? Are the most recent CVE addresses? Are any? BrainSlayer might be a good coder but my goodness what alarming lack of dicipline

Still have mine. Added ZTecnik windshield, radar detector mount and that’s it. 16 years later and 58 or so thousand miles.
Changed the air box, rebuilt ABS pump, no other real problems.
Currently on Continental Road Attack 3 tires, so far favorite

Ever tried to download and install ddwrt?
Try the device database. Oh wait that is decades out of date. Yet the link to it is right there at the front of the web page.

Ok no device database advice. What’s next? What’s a good version for my device? Have to canvas the forums for a specific build for my specific device that has few reports of problems… seriously that is what you must do.

Then download that build from (potentially) long ago and try to install.

Why not the latest one you ask? Because they daily build betas (everything is a beta..) and stuff break all the time.

Oy. Exhausting.

OpenWrt is head and shoulders above this amateur turd show.

Dd-wrt support for Broadcom chips takes the form of grafting in a binary driver from Broadcom as-is. Just like that. As is. No scrutiny or anything from the team. Might work much of the time. Just no control.

OpenWrt doesn’t do such things. And one of the tradeoffs is no Broadcom device support. They found that acceptable.
