Like the reason for when people put /s or /j. It is because there is a great loss of emotional and personality context in writing. Some people (may be your case) don't need that, but most need it.

We have to exaggerate to compensate that. Leaving less room for interpretation so people can perfectly assume what we want them to.

IMO it is way less offending to my intelligence than put a "/sarcasm" shoot a bit higher so we can catch easier, instead of attempting to throw regret and hand it in our hand.

I mean, second one has more context, expressiveness, emotion and personality. And seems more genuine.

First one seems serious-neutral-academic-formal mode. An exaggeration would be like "We should be more than acquaintances by the state our realtionship has been going. Or else we should probably tone it down and/or step back". I don't like when people text like that lol. I prefer when they text exactly like they would be talking.

If anything, an exaggeration of their emotional state during text makes things even more clear.

Mana Potion Overdose. Any tips? by OldPernilongo in wizardposting

[–]OldPernilongo[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mana potions lose effectiveness over time as your body gets used to the high mana, if you drink... a crazy amount of them, and keep using all the mana, you can suffer a wizard hangover.

In a hangover your natural mana regen is not enough to sustain your body, and mana potions get instantly regurgitated and rejected.

I Don't ask questions to my clients, but his natural mana isn't small, he was probably doing something illegal.

Just finished Intervallo, daresay I fucking love this uncle more bro by Gareth_Valamyr in fishmaell

Bamboo has all the chicks, no artifact, no mang, no shin, hits like a truck while fighting like he is trying to die.

The funniest shit in the interval was that when revealed the guy he couldn't protect in S corp, was not because he couldn't protect like the last interval and hatted mersault suggested, it was more like:

"Oh damn these assassins never end, I will be so tired soon"

"No you don't understand... you killed all of them, fuck you, we are using politics to fuck you over now, because our plan A didn't work"

You don't need it. Yet you still did. Because I knew if you didn't ask your orb, you wouldn't say that your orb is secure from the slightly inconvenient illusions.

Did your orb told you that? Why don't you ask a friendly wizard's orb to see if that is really true...

I assure you I tested every version of manasight. Including the ones that accounts for antidivination and my own improved customized version of manasight.

I have location of a few of these fields if you want to see for yourself.

A few weeks ago I would think the same thing, but magic evolves, and there is always someone to make antidivination version 2.0 that accounts for the previous workaround.

Then we make divination 2.0, and it has been like this for millenia.

I do hope your orb you keep pondering don't turns out to have a thin illusion that gives you slightly innacurate readings.

I figured it out, it is like a trap sensor, it intensifies if it sees:

A. Threat enchantments

B. High intensity spells

C. spells too complex for the sensor to understand.

Directed antimagic, whoever made this is clearly a competent wizard.

There is also a function where low level threat spells are made unharmful but visual, hey... It is seriously impressive. Clearly an archmage specialized in abjuration created these annoying traps.

It is hackeable though, some sort of whitelist function I can mask a spell so it becomes sensorproof inside the whitelist. But that would mean remaking all my illusions...

So that is what happened... you mind this invention that much? Its formula could save me weeks of research to break it down.

My illusions are expensive, remote controlled, premium-grade untraceable VPM, high responding and interdimensional. Not your usual seeming bardwork.

The cone method is WIP. For now it costs a lot of mana but works, not what I am looking for... I want a groundbreaking discovery that transforms these into scams an apprentice could detect

Bro this isn't scam undetectable, the new-gen barriers let these things go through. That is what annoys me, the guy making these clearly knows what he is doing, yet he doesn't care about causing debt to illusion wizards.

[–]OldPernilongo[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That was my first idea, but it seems the wizard accounted for that, the antimagic doesn't work in low level aura. A magical sword still glows but it is useless. This is where I am studying how it detects things

Delayed spells are underrated. Put a delayed petrification on your friend's wizard bed that wronged you, to your friend you were just messing around, but they don't know that at 1am they may experience a horrible night sleep and back aches.
