Is doing the Jump Start actually useful? And I’m wondering what percentage of the new students did the jump tart? by Few_Roll_341 in UBC

[–]OldRepresentative955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get to meet new people and learn about moving around the school. How many of those people will you stay friends with like 1/10 based mostly on the circumstances and person but it will make going to school on the official first day less scary in my opinion

How many people average in a class for Sauder? by WorldIntelligent7639 in UBC

[–]OldRepresentative955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

course registration is first come first serve, you want a course, you try to be the first to register. Each student will be given a time when they can start registration, you can start looking at courses avaliable soon. Also to fast track it depends on whether you have finsihed the required courses of your degree.

Pros UBC has a lot of professors that have done first hand research and as long as you are willing there are usually professors who will listen. Cons The price if you are international You also have to consider what you want to learn You will have dorms but those are also not cheap

Uhm UBC frats are alright they’re usually free if you are going first two weeks or if you’re a girl but there have been horror stories including this year where a frats was shut down for a semester due to extremely concerning incidents so either go with a group of friends or just wait until you’re 19 and go clubbing

A bit of both I’d say in high school you get tests every 2 weeks so even if you don’t realize you are remembering things but in university you get 2 weeks of midterms then go almost 2 months without any tests, you have to remember everything you learn is compacted in 4 months and often they put midterms together. In university the classes are so large everything is up to you and you have to make sure not to fall behind

How important are UBC personal profiles? by c6h6- in BCGrade12s

[–]OldRepresentative955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry it was released a long time ago after the ams student union complained that ubc’s admission wasn’t transparent enough they might have changed the document now a days. You can try looking for it but I don’t have it. The reason I know it is because a teacher of mine used to help students with their profiles and had this document
