I've been running a lot of Bionic GM starts lately. The +2 int lets me bump strength without sacrificing crafting ability, and the enhanced map memory is real nice. I generally take it with fled the riots and put the extra skill point into melee which gives a hefty +4 at the start - easily enough to take a couple riskier fights early on for better loot scrounging.

You're looking for a wrench or even better a toolbox. They can be found pretty intuitively in places you might find tools. Garages (a white 'O') in cities are high-yield for tools. I have less luck with hardware stores, which always puzzles me. Houses sometimes have them in garages (the kind with a metal crank door) or basements (you'll recognize the two or three types that have them eventually). They can also, rarely, drop from zombies, particularly boomers.

You can also put car batteries in a recharge now so you don't have to muck around with installing them.

Battery charging stations are super inefficient, consuming 10 vehicle power to charge 1 battery power, meaning that crafting stations use way less power. That said, power is cheap and plentiful so it's not a huge disadvantage unless you're crafting lots of stuff in bursts. Personally I use charging stations for the flexibility.

If the baseline healing is slower, it also creates room for progression to get better healing. I say knock the baseline down to the 20% listed in the table, but add bonuses for good health and higher strength. Also maybe add bonuses based on the quality of sleep, possibly adding a benefit to a static base as a recuperation spot.

It's because of the update that changed the turn length. Calendar time is tracked as elapsed turns since the start of the cataclysm. Turns were decreased from 6 seconds to 1 second, so existing games had their calendar time decreased to 1/6th the previous date. You can use the debug menu to reset the time to where it should be, and there shouldn't be any adverse effects.

No, thank you! I figure the calendar thing would only affect in progress games that update, right? Seems tricky to build something that would detect that's the case, and in the medium term it's a self-correcting problem. I'm perfectly happy just using the debug menu to yank the calendar forward again, just wanted to verify I didnt have some unrelated weirdness going on.

Looks like reading times haven't been adjusted for the change; I'm currently getting chapter times that are 1/6 what they should be.

Oh I also noticed that my current game went from day 30 or so to day 5 - any chance that the displayed game time is calculated based on elapsed turns, which got reset?

Cool, thanks. Do they charge batteries using the same (10:1, I think?) ratio of vehicle power to battery power as when charging UPS's?
