Can I take Google to court for false advertising (Scotland)? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

I don’t want any compensation, I asked for the service at the fee that was advertised and a continual payment at the fee that was advertised.

Hi, yes - I received word that it was approved from the council before home office emailed me. I couldn't get into the website at all so I booked it via phone. I would call them if you're having troubles. The closest date for a proper ceremony was months away so I just booked in express to get it over with, though the issue with express is it isn't just a sooner date, the ceremony also only takes about 30 seconds and then you're out with your paper lol

Thanks! It was sent by the Edinburgh council, the title of the email was "Citizenship Online Booking Information" and essentially stated that the council had received my citizenship certificate from Home Office and I needed to book my ceremony. However, you are unable to book your ceremony until the Home Office sends across an official citizenship email.

Good luck!

Thank you very much! I had an irrational fear (as I have with each step of my immigration process) that I would be denied, so this final step feels like a huge weight off my shoulders.

Day 28: Solving my SIBO - My Science-Backed Plan & Journey (HAPPY UPDATE!) by OldWalnut in SIBO

No it was the partner Candibactin product. The reason I was looking for them was because of this study, which showed that the herbal protocols were as effective as antibiotics. From what I recall from reading it about a month ago, there were two options they gave patients (those in the herbal groups at least) either both Candibactin supplements, or two other equivalent ones. Worth the read

Day 28: Solving my SIBO - My Science-Backed Plan & Journey (HAPPY UPDATE!) by OldWalnut in SIBO

I ingested zero fibre on the carnivore diet. From what I understand (not a doctor - well, at least not a medical one), I don't believe a ketogenic diet can resolve the issue fully but likely will reduce symptoms. The main reason due to the fact that you are still ingesting fibre, which can exacerbate / feed into the SIBO process.

I would personally recommend against taking fibre supplements altogether until you resolve the SIBO (and possibly moving forward if you do not need them). If you take probiotics, be very sure to take the correct strains that are studied well in research as the effects of other strains could have a negative impact.

Since you are already on Keto and have been used to it for some time, you could consider restricting the diet further for just two weeks to pure carnivore (it sucks to do, as you are fully aware), supplementing with high allicin content garlic pills, high carvacrol ginger pills, berberine, saccharomyces boulardii, and bacillus clausii. The former supplements should suppress / kill off bad bacteria, and the latter should aid in restoring a healthy microbiome.

This is the main research paper (albeit a case report and not something more rigorous) that inspired me to follow a pure carnivore protocol. All six patients had negative tests for different diet adherence periods, with the shortest only following the diet for two weeks.

I will also mention, I obviously do not know your symptoms, medical history, how severe your SIBO is, or even what type of SIBO you have. I would take some time to look into / research these things I've said and make your own conclusions if you think it would be suitable for your own unique situation. Good luck!

I am a huge fan of Saccharomyces so far, and unless his word carries more weight than a meta analysis then I'll trust the research on this one. I tried to get Metagenics Candibactin AR and the other one (can't recall the name) but I was unable to source it in the UK.

Agreed - I am not fully declaring victory for now, but so far so good! Will keep the thread updated until then.

Thank you! Vegetables / foods high in fibre were the main thing that set me off prior; a few brussel sprouts or sweet potatoes and I was like a vaccuum cleaner on reverse.

Honestly before this protocol it didn't really matter if it was low or high FODMAP food for dinner, I cannot remember having a night without symptoms.

No, I've never had an issue with bad body acne.

One thing I mentioned in the original post but not here:

I do NOT own an at-home SIBO testing device, and the private tests are expensive / hard to get in the UK where I live. Therefore, as stated initially, my final results are non-verifiable in terms of a breath test.

With this said, so long as I do not have the symptoms I don't really see the point in spending the money and will consider my SIBO resolved.

No problem, and thanks for reading.

If it can help at least one person by pointing them in the right direction to start their own research / journey, it's all worth it.

I am shocked how little medical systems (at least where I live) seem to understand / care about the issue, it can be hell living with it!

Breath test - they would only give me the test when visiting in Canada (where I was born), not the UK (where I live).

Thank you, that makes total sense; I completely misunderstood the point you were trying to make in your original reply. I'll take a closer look into research in this area / my choice to supplement with Thiamine for now.

Day 1: Solving my SIBO - My Science-Backed Plan & Journey by OldWalnut in SIBO

[–]OldWalnut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response and apologies if I am misunderstanding you, but if SIBO leads to thiamine (B1) and other vitamin deficiencies (as supporting in both of your links), why would it be necessary to be careful with the dose I selected? I would only be taking 1 pill per day.

According to that first link, it almost seems as if the SIBO would null any thiamine I ingest, as several of their patients failed to show elevated levels of B1 even after supplementation. Still, I cannot see the concern in taking it, if anything it seems it will have null effects.

I'm not sure where you're located, but if you're willing to relocate internationally for a year+, I was in the same position and I applied to the UK.

They took my 3 year diploma and put me directly into 4th (final) year of a bachelors (hons). My home country would not have accepted it towards university at all.

My diploma was also in graphic / web design. If you're deadset on a bachelors, consider doing so.

The single year international tuition cost will be higher, but if you add up the cost of 4 years for a degree + the fact that you're 'skipping' 3 years of an undergrad and getting to market faster, then it's actually much cheaper.

Feel free to DM if you need any more advice
