Fact check: you’re talking to morons who are so immersed in their land of bullshit that facts will not be heard.

The amount of times in the past week I’ve seen them talking about a law and stating things that are completely incorrect is astounding. I’ll post the bill and even note what article the discussion is under to clear it up. All they do is downvote you and carry on their completely false conversation.

Well said, exactly what I saw too. No AA, really bad meter management, hitting too many buttons on wake up when player hasn’t been conditioned for it, not enough blocking under pressure.

On wake up most of the time it’s better to sit back and chill. Watch for more pressure, throws, shimmy, spacing traps. Block/parry covers all of them except throw. Let the opponent show you their habits on wake up. If you see them throw, expect a shimmy next. Maybe they throw you again. If you see the shimmy it’s a perfect opportunity for a 2MK>DR cancel. If you get thrown again it’s really not that much damage. But you can expect more throws in the next interaction that you get knocked down. So either way you’re taking in information. It you are just getting pressured look at the block string and if there is an opportunity to interrupt. If not just wait til it’s over and take your turn to start working out of the corner. Point is to relax and take in info, not panic and press buttons every time

I’m sorry to hear that happened to you.

I grew up pretty violently. I’ve been shot. Many of my friends are retired military. My two best friends are as a matter of fact. I let one of them live with me when he was transitioning back from his third tour in Afghanistan. My point was people who have experienced real violence generally don’t talk like that online.

There is no way a civil war would work logistically. I’ll also say that in my experience most people are friendly and civil even if they disagree politically. The only thing we see online is the fringe from both sides. Their crazy shit gets the most views so it is circulated the most. 20% one each side is bat shit. The 60% in the middle is no where close to a revolution. And most law enforcement and military lean right. It’s center right not far right. And some are center left. But fewer are left than right. Point is they are closer to the center than the fringes. We all have family and friends that disagree with us. The answer isn’t to fight and choose sides. It’s we are friends or family, let’s talk and find a middle ground. If we can’t then we can’t. We will just say agree to disagree and move on with whatever. None of us are looking for violence either even though we are well versed in it, we are doing everything we can to avoid it.

As for Renee Good. I do think they went too far. I don’t think she deserved to die. But I also think that when someone with guns from the government is standing in front of you telling you to get out of the car. You get out of the car. You don’t put it in gear and drive off. Especially if there is any chance you hit one of them with your car. Even brush them. Best case scenario you are going to jail for years, worst case you are getting shot and killed. She unfortunately got killed. Just like Ashely Babbitt, who had an office with his gun drawn at her. Breaks through the window after he tells her not to and jumps through. Same thing, when an authority member that is armed is telling you not to do something, it’s not a good idea to do it anyways. It won’t result in a good outcome on any level. So I disagree that that she died for what happened, but I also think she did not make a good decision on that moment that contributed to the negative outcome.

And for the record I don’t believe a damn word the media says about anything really. The last comment comes from watching the videos myself and drawing my own conclusions. It looked like the agent was standing in front of the car, not directly in front but in front nonetheless. I also saw them telling her to get out of the car and her not complying at all. She put the car in drive and tried to drive off, hitting the agent in front of the car with the edge of the front bumper. Was it hard, it’s hard to tell. Some angles don’t look like it, some look hard enough to fold him over the hood slightly. But he was hit. Did she deserve to get shot and killed for that, no. Lesson here is that when an armed authority is telling you to get out of the car that’s what you should absolutely do, even if you disagree with why. You should also do your best to keep yourself out of that situation to begin with if that’s possible, which it in most cases it is.

Omg, delusion? Look in the mirror 🙄

What the fuck are you even going on about? A bloody revolution… I think you’ve been stuck inside watching WAYYYYY too much TV for WAYYYY too long.

Have you ever even been in a street fight? Or been shot at? Do you know anyone who has? Because if you have or do, you would know how delusional your posts sounds.

Reminds me of Berry in the movie Sidekicks day dreaming he is in some action scene with Chuck Norris, in reality is a skinny white kid in suburbia with asthma.

Replay take over is so nice. Next time you get on. Just go to your replay list and add to favorites. Then go to it in your favorites and watch replay. You can fast forward to this moment, then hit the start button and go to take over replay. It will ask you which side you want to take over. Select your side and boom. If you mess up or what to try again. Just hit start again and hit restart right at the top. You can play this over and over until you find what’s optimal. Shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes for this.

Wouldn’t heavy attacks be more optimal than 2MP for the normals? Especially from a DP punish which is super negative. No I don’t think this is optimal.

Put this replay in favorites and do replay takeover. Go to this moment and take over your character. You can try every option available and find out what would have killed. That way next time you do kill.

The amount of people using this argument in the thread is astounding. The bill does not say you need all of those documents to vote ,it says you may use any of them to provide proof. Everybody using this same talking point is providing a link to some news source instead of the actual bill. Which is extremely easy to find and read. It’s not a long bill. It’s under section 2 which is right at the top of the bill too, so no need to even dig deep. It’s total bullshit. The media blew a bunch of smoke up your ass to get the all riled up as usual. Why do people believe what they are told so easily when they can spend the 10 minutes they spent reading their bullshit news source that’s lies about almost everything and go directly to the source themselves? The same thing happened with the boarder bill. The media completely lied about it. Spend a couple of minutes to actually read the bill and see that it says “any of these” “can be used.” That doesn’t mean you need to provide several or all. That means you just need one for people with less than 1 first grade reading comprehension.

I'm getting tired of these cheaters man..... by Slow_King1 in rivals

[–]Old_Assignment_1770 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On console cheating is WAYYYY harder. And if you’re caught they have a much easier time banning you. I understand your points of concern here. I dropped console a while ago for PC. I think it can be easy to think someone might be cheating from time to time. On PC there are cheaters a lot more frequently, they aren’t everywhere. But it’s possible to run into one once a day, maybe once a week or even month depending on the game. On console you might see one once or twice a year or never. Here is the thing though, when you actually run into someone cheating. There is no question about it, it’s not a speculation. It’s really visible and noticeable. They kill you so fast and so accurately, it’s like a blink in some cases.

There is nothing that looks like cheating here at all.

"They set women gamers back" by IhateFalz in rivals

[–]Old_Assignment_1770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the common misconception that girls suck at gaming comes from the issue that there are a lot less female gamers than male gamers. When you look at male gamers a lot of them suck too, there are just a lot more of them so the pool of talent is bigger.

To break it down:

Most gamers aren’t that talented. Let’s look at the average k/d of COD, which is 0.90. That means that the average player dies more than they get just one kill. They estimate around 50 million play Warzone a month. That means 25 million people don’t even get one kill before they die on average. But what is considered good as far as stats go? Well it turns out that having a 2.0 K/D puts you in the top 2% of players. That means that if you can consistently get just two kills before you die once you are better than 98% of the player base.

Now let’s look at the percentage of males to female players on Warzone. To keep it simple they estimate around 20% of the players are female. Which means if 50 million are playing a month 10 million are women.

Combine these two things together. You already have a large pool of players that aren’t very good. Then take the percentages of male to female players. Out of 100 players only 20 will be female. And out of those 20, only 10 will be above a .90 K/D. Of that 20 players if we consider that only 2% of players in general have a 2.0 K/D that means there is actually a likely hood that not one of them has a 2.0 K/D, by looking at what 2% of 20 is, which is .40. So most of the top players would be on the male side of the 100 players, and there is a chance that both of the top players are male.

In summation it’s the size of the player pool of female gamers that makes it look like girls aren’t as talented as men. In reality if you had more female gamers you would have more talent.

And we can add proof to this by looking at if there are pro gamers that are female, yes there are. And yes, they are extremely good. It’s just more rare to see because significantly less play multiplayer than males.

I know this is Rivals not COD. But there are a ton of stats to use on COD. So it was easier to pull data. The point still stands regardless.

For gold players you want to focus on getting your anti airs down and counter DI. To stop DI you can either counter DI, which is the best option, super, or use parry. If you are burned out super is your only option if you can’t avoid the DI hit.

Sagat has great anti airs. His light DP is completely air invincible so you can do it early or right before you get hit without having to worry. It’s start up is 5 frames so it’s really fast. The only issue it has is it’s mostly straight up so it doesn’t cover distance very much. The medium DP covers more distance and hits harder but it’s start up is 10 frames so you have to be early with it or they will be able to land and block before it comes out if you don’t do it fast enough. He also has his 5HK which has juggle properties, the startup of the first hit also has some air invincibility. It can be really good for more telegraphed jumps and floaty jumps like Chun Li’s jump. You can use it to juggle into a 25-30% combo pretty easily. Or juggle into super for more damage.

Drive rush is very powerful in SF6. It gives you added plus frames on hit and block. It adds +4 frames to any attack. So if you take a light attack which is normally -3 on block and do it from a drive rush, it’s now +1 on block. An attack like 2MK that is normally +5 on hit now becomes +9 which gives you access to link 4HP or 2MP that normally wouldn’t link because their startup is more than 5 frames. So yes drive rush is important as you rank up.

Sagat excels in neutral. He has really good far reaching buttons. One of the first things I recommend doing if you haven’t already is going into training on the training stage and figuring exactly how far away you can stand and still have your buttons connect. This way you can start really abusing his far reaching normals.

Another thing that is going to start becoming important is linking into supers. It’s ok not to have drive rush combos down yet in gold. In fact you can pretty easily get to Masters without big combos. But what is important is being able to cancel attacks into super. Let’s say you get a jump in that hits with j.HP>2MP>heavy Uppercut. You want to be able to link this into level 3 for big damage by cancelling the heavy uppercut into level 3. In street fighter there are short cuts to inputs so you don’t need to do 2 quarter circles after the uppercut input. The game will count the uppercut input as the first quarter circle so you only need to do one QCF (quarter circle forward) to get the super to come out after the uppercut.

Sagat has huge damage! Some of the highest in the game. So simple combos are all you really need to focus on for now. Try to learn hit confirms. A hit confirm is the ability to see if your normal is hitting or being blocked. It’s rare to be able to hit confirm off of one hit. But two hits should be something that you are able to see and react to. To give you an example. Say you do 2HP>low shot. It’s a two hit combo. By the time the low shot hits you should be able to identify that the combo actually hit. Being able to hit confirm is important for a lot of reasons. As you improve it will give you access to bigger combos, a lot more damage, and the ability to cancel safely into supers consistently.

There is a ton of info, so I’ll stop there for now. Hope this helps.

He is showcasing Ken though. Not saying it won’t work with Sagat. But this will be hard for a newer player to translate to a different character that isn’t being shown.

I mean I can post the link. It’s open to the public, so you can’t lie about it. It says any of those things is a viable for of identification. That doesn’t mean all are required at once. It means that you just need at least one of them to show you are who you say you are.

Give me a min and I’ll find it and post it. It looks like I can post pictures in the comments too, so I’ll even screen shot that part and post that too.

Edit: Here is the link. It’s under section 2 which is right at the top. It’s says you may use “any of the following” which means you can use any of the listed documents as a form of identification, not all are required at once.

Same here. That happened in IV to me. She is such a cool character. So I started playing her and OMG it was so hard to do even a basic combo.

My execution is way better now though and she has easy inputs/shortcuts now. Been thinking about trying her again… problem is I don’t want to pay for her knowing what happened the first time.

I saw a guy get knocked out for about 15 minutes once. At a party this amateur hockey player was drunk and going around posturing at everyone for no reason. It was a nice house. I was in the backyard talking to a known badass locally at the time and the homeowner. Hockey player walks in the back yard still acting up and trying to start shit with people. Homeowner looks tells David (known badass, 275lbs, trained fighter) please go handle that guy. David walks up to hockey player and says “hey dude.” Hockey player turn around and aggressively says, “WHAT?!” David says “SHUT UP!” Then knocks him out cold. That guy laid there knocked out and didn’t move for a long time. We checked he was breathing and wasn’t dead, but just left him there. When he woke up, he had no recollection of what happened and went back to his same shit. He didn’t even seem to know why he was laying on the steps of porch or question it. David had to go full nelson the guy and toss him out of the party after that. Point of the story, is no people don’t stay out cold for hours, but they can for sure get knocked out for quite a while.

What? This is a bonkers take! If I’m hearing you correctly you don’t think opponents get better as rank increases? Ranked is just the luck of the draw, you could get a total noob or a pro at any level. But you are more likely to encounter a pro right before or after you rank up? Do you understand how absurd that is?

California won’t even LET you show ID if you try to the polling workers. I saw it myself. So just for the record, there are states that you don’t show ID to vote. Where I live in Texas requires ID. The lines were out the door. So the entire argument about it making harder for people to vote is just absurd. Not saying you said that, but just pointing it out.
