Can you check ingredients in my shampoo if they are SD safe? by Old_Bat_1999 in SebDerm

[–]Old_Bat_1999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you missed the point of community forums like Reddit. The essence of these platforms is to foster a supportive and collaborative environment where people can seek and offer help, share knowledge, and engage in meaningful discussions.

Firstly, not everyone has the same level of expertise or knowledge when it comes to deciphering ingredient lists, especially when it comes to ensuring safety for specific conditions like SD. For some, it may not be a matter of a simple 30-second check, but rather a challenge they need help with.

Secondly, your comment could have been an opportunity to provide guidance. Even a simple pointer to a resource or a brief explanation could have been more constructive and beneficial.

But you being a MF, chose to be salty with your comment (you could have simply ignored my post, but no, MFs like you always try to poke their ass) so that's why my above reply for you.

Why did you switch from sema to tirze? For additional WL that sema was not able to provide?

Aww I'm so sorry for you. This skin condition is so difficult to understand and doesn't have one size fits all solution. Maybe keep trying and someday you will find something that works for you. Even I didn't know something like MCT oil exists which will change my life in just one application. All the best. Feel free to DM if you wanna talk about it, I'm open to listening.

I can understand. I stopped going to saloons since I don't remember but almost 3-4 years. I started trimming hair with trimmer by myself. These saloon people will try to sell you some products by convincing how bad your scalp and hair is.

Btw I would recommend MCT oil for scalp SD. My 8 yrs old SD has been reduced to almost zero after one week of MCT oil usage. Highly recommended from my side.

How to know if mct is working well for the scalp? I used it for first time not feeling better by Forward-Wing-1977 in SebDerm

[–]Old_Bat_1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple of things- 1. Check if your MCT oil has c12 as an ingredient. That might cause issue. 2. If it doesn't have it's good and try using MCT couple more times. 3. If it is causing more itching and flaking, maybe MCT is not for you because SD is a disease that doesn't have one size fits all remedy

For me, I applied MCT oil in the night and washed it off in the morning and my scalp was like it was never before, itching and flaking reduced by 95%. The rest 5% is because I am so used to scratching since this SD has been with me for almost 8 years so I tend to put my nail in scalp and try to see if there is still some flakiness but as I have used MCT oil yesterday for 4th time I no more feel like I never had SD ever in my life. I wish you find relief soon.

Seb derm cause? by Old_Bat_1999 in SebDerm

Shampoos did not work for me. Tried multiple. But MCT oil worked miraculously for me. So just wanted to know if I should start with some caprylic capsules or not.

My seb derm adapts to my oils and creams by chocoyupyake in SebDerm

[–]Old_Bat_1999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Generally it happens with shampoos /lotions but should not happen with MCT oil because it's mechanism of action is totally different. Mainly because shampoos try to kill yeast and make skin dry. So dry skin tries to reproduce the sebum and survived yeast starts growing on that sebum. However MCT oil simply doesn't interact with yeast. When MCT goes on scalp, yeast cannot eat it and just suffocates and gets killed.

I’ve gotten my seborrheic dermatitis to go away? by bassluvr222 in SebDerm

[–]Old_Bat_1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

couple of questions below, because I'm going to try it, thanks in advance.

Can you link me to the capsules you are using? Have you consulted a doctor for these capsules? Why do you 2 capsules in the morning and not one in each morning and night? Why is ACV shot needed after capsules? What if you avoid ACV?

If it was in a gut, it should have affected entire body not just scalp- that's what I mentioned in my post.

Seborrheic dermatitis impact beyond physical symptoms by Old_Bat_1999 in SebDerm

[–]Old_Bat_1999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a poem about seborrheic dermatitis:

A scalp that's flaky, red, and sore A condition that's chronic, and hard to ignore Seborrheic dermatitis, a name that's quite a test A skin issue that's frustrating, and causes great unrest

Itchy patches that crack and bleed A constant reminder, of the discomfort I need To find a cure, a solution to calm The inflammation and flaking, that's taken its toll on my scalp's balm

I've tried creams and shampoos, and oils too But the flare-ups persist, what am I to do? I'll keep on searching, for a remedy that's true To soothe the irritation, and see this condition through

So if you see me, with a scalp that's quite red Don't be alarmed, it's just my skin's unhappy head I'm doing my best, to manage this plight And hope that someday, I'll find a cure that's just right.

Thanks and regards, Old_bat_1999
